Nah, miners buy ASICs directly from Nvidia. ;)

Scalpers are still making a buck off of these. The only GPU I see getting closer to MSRP now is the 3090 as there just aren't that many people willing to fork over that kind of cash for a GPU.

Well I’m in queue, says estimated wait time is more than an hour. I will happily go about my day and keep working while I wait in line. Thanks for the heads up.
 
Friend got in the queue after me. He had 33 minute wait. Then he had 1 minute wait and then "an error occured". FAIL

I've been using Hotstock to try to get a 5900x or 5950x from Amazon. Are any of the other plugins/apps better or is it all just luck after you get any of those mentioned?

Its luck. Someone else mentioned Hotstock in a different thread. From my experience its extremely hit or miss. Sometimes it'll be dead on and you'll get a notification a few seconds before most other notifications. But unless you are already on your phone the 2-3 second difference won't matter. Other times the app will just completely miss a stock drop, or worse yet, will spam you over and over again with fake stock drops.

I had an alert for NE 5950x & 5900x but zero chance to buy or add to cart
 
Two MSI 3080’s came in stock at 5:01 but were immediately out of stock

Massive EVGA 3080 FTW3 drop (2-3 min) + smaller EVGA 3070 FTW3 drop (15sec or so) both on Amazon tonight, if you were on a Discord you had a very good chance.

I think Newegg's at the point it's not worth bothering with and getting frustrated over, because there are just so many eyes on it with the announcements on twitter - and it's not about auto-checkout bots because even the people running those are complaining. Amazon you have a small but fighting chance.

Yes. The more sources of notifications you have the better chance you will find a drop.

Forget Hotstock. I know I mentioned it before in my PS5 tips in another thread, but it's inept and inconsistent. The only way you'll get a 59x0 is being on a Discord, and/or running FairGame with 1 ASIN and a 1sec delay (and I expect this to be viable only another week or two due to the proliferation of people running this script). That or being on Newegg at exactly the right moment with an iPhone and ApplePay.

thanks. the one suggested earlier in this thread is only notifying NE for free. I went to donate to get amazon notifications but they are full. any others you'd recommend?

That is Average Tech Review's (ATR) Discord where they have notification bots setup for most major websites. You just assign a role to yourself for what you want and then setup push notifications on your phone for Discord. They're nearly at 50K members.

Pointless. by the time you get to checkout after adding to cart it says sold out. Complete waste of time for most of us who have a life and cannot be jumping on in stock notifications at a moment's notice. I'm too old for this shit.

Seriously though we're a week before christmas with ten other factors contributing to these shortages, and the Black Friday Walmart stampede never went away, it's just moved fully online. So the best tact is to relax and laugh about it - be outcome independent. Then if you score something, cool.
