I just got my laptop running the SMP client again. Though I'm mostly just trying to keep Vaulter98c from mowing the crap out of me, slow down dammit! It's not fair. ;)



 
I think we're doing well against MPC, even though they're showing a bit of an increased ramp. EVGA is the bigger threat for the near term despite they seemed to have slowed down a bit.

Is this one of the mega-folders that a few people have been talking about?
 
He used to be. By me tho, anyone over 100 is one, but he used to put out much more than 500 (if I'm thinking the right guy, he was over 1 million ppd for a while)

Yeah, that's the right guy. However, his production slacked off a bit, and PDC started getting all those unassigned 25k bigadv WUs...


 
Does he/she manage a massive corporate network / webhost / datacenter / justplainrich? I cannot see this happening in any other way.

If I remember right, him, clam, and 1 more all work at re same place, a think tank or something, and they have a metric shitload of blade servers. If I remember right

Yes, he was one of the biggest mega-folder in spring time.

About 1.5M PPD at this peak, IIRC. I believe he may be the all-time biggest single user producer in the history of the fold... :cool:

For me, it takes about 800K PPD to be considered a mega-folder, or anything approaching 1M PPD. There are none ATM, only super-folders (>~200K PPD).

The mega-folders have folded from almost all the top 5 teams except [H]. Why this is so, I can only hazard a guess but personally believe it has something to do with human psychology and the underdog... :rolleyes:
 
Well, other then eVGA, we have the sheer numbers and [H]ardness to push onwards.

EDIT: I sounded like somebody on the western side of the strait :(

Looks like flogge has re-vamped the menu around here...I'm in for some bacon! :D I'm not overly concerned about MPC (although I *did* just subscribe to the mag for kicks). I am still concerned about EVGA though...

The third guy is barnettworks, and I believe they all work at a datacenter.
