I was looking through hardfolding.com, and I noticed the "[H]orde Trade" under "member info." Could someone explain what this is? Under my profile options, I can give my "[H]ard|Folding Stats ID" and my "[H]ard|Forum Profile Link." I assume the profile link is just a link to my profile here on the forums, but what is the stats ID, and what is the [H]orde Trade is? Thanks.

Speaking on this, anyone gonna get around to using this?

haha yeah I noticed there were a whopping 2 items up, but there is also the DC FS sub forum thing now, so who knows. Of course I need to work up my F@H points to use this, but oh well.

The DC FS subforum is for sales only. Giveaways and stuff like that are what are to be done on hardfolding.

Well i can't access Horde trade so I will be using the DC FS.

We are using the subforum for all transactions...for now.

Any certain reason? I thought the trade on hardfolding is live?

For some reason, not all members can access the page. (Like Spectre) You are all free to use it, but I didn't think it was quite right until ALL eligible members can access it.

Ohh, well all he has is crap anyways so he don't count.

Okay, I was just wondering. I remember the post, I believe last week, where King said it had gone live. I wasn't aware that there were problems. Maybe we should resurrect that thread and make mention of this.

so what is his problem with opening it? Lets get this worked out King spent alot of his time and hard work to make it work correct along with a testing phase to work out these problems. It is a great thing that needs to be used imo

So ... what ... are you a socialist now? ......... This "ALL" comment wouldn't have come from the original AM that was a 'take no prisoners' [H]folder 2 years ago.

Come on, what have you done with our real AM?? You got him locked in a magic chest? You will run out of polyjuice sooner or later! Then the jig will be up.

I havn't been able to login to HardFolding.com for some time. I emailed King about it, but never got a response. There's nowhere to email yourself the password or have it reset, and it's driving me nuts. Can I get some help from someone one that? I'd like to be able to snag some free parts for my farm.

Full Folding Ahead!

Huh, we talking about the same guy here...???

Would have liked to have met this mystery Moose from 2 years back.
:)

tsuehpsyde you have a PM.

Spectre why can't you access the trade area? Everything should be working fine.

In the info area do you see any lines that say Edit Registration? all regular registration info must be completed and all trade information must be completed.

Thanks King, all seems to be well.

How does this trade work, exactly? Do you just post up stuff you don't use and try to work out a deal? I'd hate to try and "claim" parts then not have anything worth trading. :p Should we post recommendations as to what we're looking for, and post if they're freebies in the description as well?

Spectre.....WTF??

New computing policy a while back cut my vlan connection to offsite host that I was connecting through so my good producers are out for the count. I have 3 P3-450 borgs still chugging....or I did....probably should call about those since they usually only take a month to 6 weeks to chew through a unit (owners turn them on and off). Those should have been still dumping timeless tinkers.

Edit: I was looking back and it looks like I dumped a 241 point in Dec so at least one system is still running.

King, perhaps we could edit the policies somewhat...obviously, Spectre is a contributing long time member of this team. He should be allowed to trade.

Here's the problem, the trade area is built using the stats, after 7 days and no production you are listed as dead and can not access the trade.

Now when I built the trade area I did so testing the United Devices stats first afterall I run UD, I setup an old P2 celeron with F@H to test the F@H side of it and after 3-4 days my status went from dead to active. This machine was running the entire test period and not one time did I show up as dead in the stats, if a p2 celeron is capable of staying live then I don't understand what the problem here is.

Regardless there is a reason I set it up to check for active members, let's just say that someone from another team finds the trade area, they decide it means free parts for them and their team , they switch over their farm to gain the 10k points needed then switch back to their team afterwards, if the active check was removed then *anyone* that was a member of the team past or present could use the trade area simply because their stats say they have over 10k points.

The point is that anyone with a singular p2 celeron running 24/7 can keep their account active, I'm sorry but that is the best I can do.

It's not that I have anything against spectre, it's just that the code was setup to verify that *all* members using the trade area are active.

Just my thoughts, it's a tough one. I'm not sure if you could enter a exclusion based on just one user name, or even if that should be done (sorry Spectre).

Some work arounds, have someone but a box under Spectre's name. Or, if there was something Spectre really wanted (not sure if he can view items), someone else could do the trade (getting into a slippery slope here).

On the flip side, if someone does not have 1 machine running, they really don't need parts for another. However, maybe they would need parts for 1 machine to begin with. I don't think anything prevents a person from posting in the DC FS/FT forum- need a part x, need a machine price willing to pay = shipping + .01.

Just some thoughts.

I don't really need anything for systems to run myself it is actually the opposite I would use it simply to move equipment to folders who can use it as I get it. I have much less room for stuff since moving so I can't store stuff as I get it....this neccesitates turning it out as fast as possible. There is 0 chance of work changing the policy and there is one vlan computer left (although lot's of other systems that could fold and 4 that previously were but new policy retricts them to the local intranet) for access to the internet which I can't fold on because I don't have admin privileges on it (and they won't eb granted as per the new computing policy restricting exposed systems).

As for getting work done....the systems that I have still out there are all boxes with family who use them simply for web surfing, etc. I set them up with P3-450's because I could cool them sufficently and remain silent but my relatives are older and only have the system's on when using (so they won't run 24/7). So they aren't going to dump regularly.

In the end it isn't a real big deal since I can still use the Fs/Ft section to move stuff for the [H]orde I was just unaware of why i couldn't access the section of Hardfolding.

My situation may change that I can get some more dedicated folders up into next year but I will ahve to wait and see.

You would need 10K points to ask for an item in the subforum for free....if you are willing to pay, that is another matter I suppose.

This situation with Spectre is sucky...that is why I will continue to allow trades to occur in the subforum.

p[H]ant0m and I have talked at length about this and it has been decided that in light of the fact that the team asked for both of these systems to be put in place, and neither of them are perfect, we are going to try our best to utilize both systems and play by the rules of each system. There will be no exceptions. (Sorry Spectre)

So as of this moment in time, the subforum is for items that are for sale by members. Items that are to be donated or given away can be listed by members and non-members as well. Any items to be traded must be handled via the new trade area on Hardfolding. Again, no exceptions. If you wish to trade, make sure you are actively turning in WUs.

Please feel free to make suggestions and leave your comments.

I agree with this myself. Over the years, from some things I've heard, King and BillR at least have put up with a ton-o-shit (not from us of course!) and I vote we just leave things the way they are.
