I was another victim of fake flash memory on ebay. :mad:
I got a 32GB SD card that was losing files after reboot.:mad:

After searching http://fixfakeflash.wordpress.com/ i was unable to find a guide to fix or otherwise make usable my fake 32GB DC card.:rolleyes:

so i decided:

1-To hack open the sd card and discover the chip part number

2- In my case the flash memory chip showed FBNM40A2GK3WG.

3 Google it and found http://down.91xiu.com/icpdf/UploadFiles_4428/20080928/200814103850601.pdf

4- My 32GB SD card used a single 4Gb memory chip. Thats 4 Gigabits. It is a 512MB SD card , with a firmware hack to show 32GB.:eek:

5- Formatting time with Easeus Partition Master. On the spec sheet this device uses 64k sectors, so i decided to create a single NTFS partition with 64k clusters.

6-Tested the newly formatted SD card with H2testw 1.4- only 480,7 MB without errors. My 512Mb chip, solded as a 32GB card, can handle only 480,7MB of data. Adding insult to injury it is not a fake card, it is a defective fake card.:D

7- another format , this time with 480,7 MB, and finally H2testw showed no errors.:cool:

Now i am a happy and scr&w#d owner of a gigantic 480MB ( 450MB isable on NTFS) SD card:)
