GTX 460

so it seems the general consensus is between 10k-11k roughly on and overclocked card.

I was looking at some 465's around $159 with rebates but cant seem to find a good definitive source of info on them,on the evga forums it seems they can pull around 10k at stock and up to around 14k with an oc.

I am still going to pick up an X6 after christmas, but I really want to get at least one more card so I can move on of these 260s to my little bros comp as soon as its finished so I can borg it lol.

Also, I have a cpu cooler that should be here on monday, spire thermax eclipse II,just wondering what the technique for applying Tim is for heatsinks with heatpipes?

1. 159 for the 465 aint bad. especially if its one that can be unlocked. but if you went that route i'd just spend more for the 470 or wait for the chistmas sales to get the 470 since the 560 will be replacing it, retailers will want to get it off the shelves as soon as possible.

2. you could always send one my way and borg it :D lol kidding..

3. theres a few guides on the web. depending if the heat pipes are completely smooth with the base or look similar to the xig S1283. do some googling you could probably find it. i know its been posted a few times in the overclocking section. might have to do some fancy keyword searching to find it though.

awesome,thank you zero,very informative article

I was thinking of just going for a 470,if they were around $200,I would be all over one,I'll wait and see if they drop around christmas time then pick one up if they do go down a bit.I did see a EVGA gtx 470 for $229 after rebate, but ill wait a bit before I decide.

You can always take a look at the used market. You may be able to find 470s for under $200 there if you're comfortable with it.

that's what I'm planning. Snap up the first ~$185 GTX470 I can find.

I have pushed my GTX460 up to 910 core/1820 shader. folding stable at max volts in afterburner.

i love winter
