Buy it before the price goes up. For example; the Asus GTX 460 1Gb DirectCU was 165usd with rebate the other day. Now it's back up to 200usd with rebate again.

The Hawk will likely do 850 on the core or greater. 850 would be equal to the EVGA FTW in this review.

I've heard less than favorable things about the Palit brand's warranty service, and that's clocked MUCH lower (700 vs. 780 for the MSI) with fewer overclocking options as well as a worse cooler (design + fans).

it takes 5 seconds to move the slider from 700-780 and any gtx460 can handle at least 800 without additional voltage. as for the other concerns, I have not done any research into that particular card or Palit themselves.

The GTX 470 deal was a Newegg Black Friday one IIRC so people got it I'm sure. As for new cards, doubtful there's anything from AMD, and just the GTX 560 rumored for Jan 20.

I thought the 460 would give a bit of a boost over a 260 right? (I have a 260 myself). Hard to find comparisons to such an ancient card..

Didn't think much about a new GPU until I got BC2 the other day.. Now it's the question is a 460 "good enough" or go for a 6950 for extra ompf..

there are plenty of comparisons showing the gtx260 against the gtx460. its not much of an upgrade at all and you are only looking at about a 20-25% improvement. in some games such as Borderlands and just Cause 2 its not even a 5% improvement though. what does the rest of your pc look like and what res do you play at?

Cool. Will admit I haven't looked too hard, mostly just read Anand or [H].. Guess what I meant is comparing 260 vs 460 vs 69xx cards. (know of course how it'll turn out, question is just "how much"..)

I have a i7 920 @ 3.4 GHz and 6GB mem. Run 1920x1200. Mostly play older games that aren't very taxing though (DoW 2, Dragon age, Civ 4) But saw some pop-in in BC2 so started looking. But it did seem to run ok, so need to test more. Maybe my trusty 260 can last a little longer
