depends what game you play. the sli will use much more power, thats for sure.

Isn't it overkill for gaming at 1920x1080? One or two games might benefit from it but otherwise... You'd be able to play at the same settings in most games with a single GTX 260 or a GTX 275/ATI 4890.

i7 can really boost FPS in multi-GPU configs so thats always good.
If you're gonna go single GPU you should get a 4890 or GTX275 as they offer 90% of the performance of a GTX285 at a lot lower price.

Or 110% of the performance of a GTX260/4870 for $50-70 more... Depending on how you look at it.
