So I bought the game from a friend and the game seems like it runs perfectly but after about an average of 6-8 minutes of gametime, I crash to the desktop with a EXE has stopped working. I remember this game being on sale during the past Steam/DD sale, Is anyone having a problem with it on Windows 7 with it?

I really like the game but this is really pissing me off. :(

I have Windows 7 x64 and have no problems at all running Grid (Steam version).

I also have GRID on Windows 7 Pro x64 on steam and no problems either. Have you tried updating your graphics drivers

did you update the game and everything? i know i had this problem with the game when it was the retail version.. but the problem seemed to go away with the 1.2 patch i believe..

another windows 7 x64 here and no problems. Have you tried verifying the game files? I had to do that a bunch of times for Mass Effect on steam

another win7/64 with no problem with Grid from Steam.. Played 4 hours in one sitting (Loving the game so far)

I already went back to older drivers from the latest to test it out and nothing. Even updated to 1.3. :(

what does the event viewer say?

does your event viewer say anything about what is causing the crash or is there a crash log that would point you in the right direction?

Windows 7 x64 here too and no problems, I did have a problem about a week ago, GRID crashed on me , but I updated my video card drivers to Ati latest and haven't had a problem since.

Runs beautifully here just wish the game wasnt completely impossible to play.

I got it working for some reason when I leave the side panel opened my gpu temps go under 70C and nothing crashes anymore.

As for your comment, you playing on kb/m too? I am and I always change driving keys to WASD and have traction control on. Seems to play fine.

I had installed GRiD on Mighty Mouse (specs in sig) without Steam, and without issues, either.

Speaking of games on x64, I dusted off another old game to see if it passed the x64 test. The game in question - Forsaken. (Yup; one of the oldest of console ports from the heyday of the original Acclaim Entertainment. Forsaken was an odd duck in several ways; however, Forsaken's claim to fame was it being an early favorite among the benchmark fanatics; from MajorGeeks to boot Magazine/MaximumPC.)

Surprisingly, it works quite well (installed without a hitch; however, you need the 1.01 patch to play on 7 x64).

Resolution is 1680x1050x32-bit color (the game's ceiling) and it plays at a smooth 55-60 fps (remember, this is not a gaming rig). So here I am, playing an old game, on a new OS, at it's top resolution, on decidedly non-gaming hardware...and it's smooth as glass. (Never mind that 1680x1050 isn't even the monitor's default.)

Forsaken *still* looks darn good, over a decade later!

Steam version of GRID on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and not a single issue. Played for hours on end.
