GRID 2.

Not that I ever used cockpit view, but dropping it altogether is kind of dumb.

Oh well, just excited this game actually exists and promises:D to steal even more of my life away than the first GRID did :D

WTF?????

No cockpit view?

Well I'm out. That is the view I used most. Fuckin lame.

Ditto, Simulators are all the same for me: if they don't have a cockpit view then I'm not interested.

For those downplaying it...Forcing people to play WITH cockpit view is just as bad as forcing people to play WITHOUT it.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I played GRID 100% of the time in the cockpit view. I just can't play a driving game using the behind the car view, and I've never been a huge fan of the hood view (when was the last time you drove a car from the hood of it?). LOL @ Cockpit View DLC:D

Just a thought...cockpit view would force them to add much more authentic detail which they might have been looking to avoid.

Yes, and actually spend time polishing the game instead of churning out more cookie cutter games.

That has nothing to do with polishing the game. Modelling cockpit views for every car is a huge resource sink. Most game developers don't have infinite money and/or time.

Even Gran Turismo 5, which was in development for, what, 7 years? only had cockpit views for a fraction of the available cars.

Anything worth doing, is worth doing right.

Codemasters fucking makes me angry,

"Lets portray a game as a simulator by having a real race car driver race our cars in a video, BUT were not going to have an in car view". ( insert troll face)

Bullshit. Sit on your game and spin Codemasters.

Forza 4 was in development for far less time, as was its predecessor, and it has cockpit views of ALL cars. Any argument based on GT5 is on loose footing, as that game is abysmal for the amount of time they spent on it.

It is dubious, indeed, that they are not including cockpit views in Grid 2. That makes it a no-purchase for me.

What we can confirm now is that there will be three different options for special edition downloadable content depending on whether you pre-order the game at GameStop, Best Buy or Amazon. GameStoppers will get the McLaren and Nissan GT-R Racing Packs, featuring the MP4-12C GT3 and two new ways around the UK's Brands Hatch track in the former, and a GT-R SpecV plus an exclusive online event and five daytime circuits at Yas Marina in the latter.

Get the goods from Best Buy and you'll get the IndyCar Pack that includes the series Pace Car and Dallara chassis, an exclusive online event and two additional routes around The Brickyard. Amazon's version will offer the Head Start Pack, which is a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT on top of discounts in the Car Upgrades Store and a RaceNet bonus.

Hmmm... :(

No cockpit view, pre-order exclusives, misleading marketing videos portraying the game as a simulator...no thanks Codemasters.

Still scratching my head at all that DLC for Dirt 3, that you can't even buy in game or on Steam.

They simply sell us a stripped version if the game for $50 - $60 and then screw us out of more money by making us buy what should've been included at launch. It's extortion, I say!

That's funny, I just heard of Grid2 coming today and I just started playing the hell out of Grid for the last few days after not touching it in two years.. It's such a damn good game and still holds up really well graphically after 4-5 years or however long it's been.

the thing I liked about grid was the multiplayer, and the thing I hated about grid, was the multiplayer. I would like to see more ability to adjust the rules to the specific player's or group of player's desire. Aside from that the game play was pretty good.

Never used the cockpit view either. Reason being....if I'm driving with my wheel, to me, THAT is the cockpit. It'd be weird to see 2 wheels, especially when the one on screen isn't 1:1 with my actual wheel. I prefer bumper cam, or if the game has the camera which sits on your hood then I'm even happier as the bumper cam is usually super low to the ground.

I will buy it immediately if the culprit view is added...

Without it, I'll see when it drop to bargain price.........

I might have to buy a wheel and shifter for this. Any cheapish good ones (dont need force feedback) and have a clutch? I want the shifting experience.

From the sounds of it, you won't want a wheel for this. You could use a wheel with iRacing, RFactor, Race07, RaceRoom Racing Experience, etc. This is being developed for the arcade racers though. IE: Controllers.

Good info thanks.

Good info thanks.

Even if you aren't into the sim racers, there are still a lot of arcadish racers that would much better suit a wheel. Shift 1/2, Test Drive Unlimited 2, and Dirt 2/3 are all games that I've really enjoyed and work very well with my G27.

True.

Also, Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed can become a lot of fun with mods. Look into the Unofficial Community Patch (UCP) and Nominal Tyre Mod (NTM). No Grip Racing has files and info.

I loved the first GRID, so I'm trying to look forward to this - my only issue is the F1 series for the PC. With the amount of bugs and lack of polish on that (now yearly) series, I'm getting a little disillusioned with codemasters :(

I still would really love to have a game like Forza and/or Gran Turismo for the PC :(

Well it's a racing game without a cockpit view. That's like a shooter without a gun. I agree their stuff is starting to look the same.

Hmmm I wanna buy GRID 2 for my friend from here he likes racing game but i don't know what think about this game and this merchant? Can you give me some feedback about this?

game so far is better than grid 1. But The AI needs some work. Also random hiccups that slow the game to a crawl then fast forward to catch up are damn annoying. Handling is much improved over grid 1 also.
