I wanted to report back per Mod to this thread which was closed : http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1714672

I shipped the phone back to the seller but either he refused the package or he moved to a new address.
Not much choices, i decided to power up the phone and found out the Home button was not working properly. Since the Home button doesnt work, i decided to replace the Home Button and the scratched screen at the same time.
When the repair man open up the phone, he also found out that the charging port ribbon cable was loose and the port came from a White iphone.
He concluded that this iphone was either a White iphone before or this seller replaced the charging port from a White iphone.

All those issues with the iphone but the Seller did not disclaim in his original forsale thread. I took the time to post this thread so [Hard] members can be aware of this seller.

I'll chime in with that. I spoke with greenman100 via PM and in his after-TTT forsale thread. I'll see if I still have those PMs, although I have a bad habit of not saving them and deleting old stuff when the box gets full, so they likely have been purged. I should have a link to his thread, though -- I *never* clean out my subscribed threads, and the forum subscribes me to everything I post in.

IIRC, in the PMs and his reply in the thread, he was more than a little immature, basically saying "I won the paypal dispute SO THERE nah nah nah nah" -- that was NOT his actual wording, but it was the sentiment I picked up. Basically, he believes he's in the right simply because paypal was greedy enough to side with him. Hmm.

EDIT: here's his thread --> http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1715537
I'll look for the PMs.
EDIT2: my PMs don't go back far enough. Sorry about that  Maybe I should look into saving those things.

Interesting. Maybe OP should look into doing a chargeback if he paid by credit card?

Isn't there usually a time limit on that, like 30 days? (Full disclosure: I don't know. I don't take part in plastic high-interest loans.)

I did but Greenman100 won't accept the package when I sent to him, please see first post.
My CC won't refund the money if I can't prove to them that he recieved the phone back. :(

You should close your CC then. If they aren't going to help you out, they don't deserve your money. Call them back and explain that you tried sending it back but seller refused delivery. Doesn't matter if PP ruled in his favor (due to him refusing shipment). If you get a chargeback going, you'll see how quickly PP will rule in your favor. But if you go this route, your PP account will get closed.

Good luck.

If I could prove that I shipped it and my CC wouldnt get my back, I'd close the account and find a new company to deal with.,

Show them the original return address from the original package (if you still have it, hopefully you do), show them that you sent it out to that address and it was marked return to sender, which shows the seller unwilling to cooperate with you. You can't force someone to accept the return package, you've done everything properly.

It also looks like he has a thread offering to buy broken Apple products, presumably to fix and resale. I wonder what other issues this phone has had and he didn't disclose...home button and charger port sounds like water damage to me.

Wow, I really hope this leads to a ban of this seller.

I'm pretty sure that if you show the tracking to your CC company where it explicitly says "Delivery Refused By Customer", that would be good enough.

Thank you for all your inputs but i decided to fix the phone, cost me like $150 for parts + labor.
And now i am really happy with the phone now :)
The reason i posted this thread so you guys can be aware of this guy.

That's nice... but...

You shouldn't have to pay money for someone to fix something, when it shouldn't have been broken to begin with! Especially $150 -- that's a lot of money, dude!

Yeah I've never gotten a PM from you. Sorry boss.

Not for a dude working at NASA!

I don't want to fuel the flames, but it doesn't help your case attacking other members. It's also fishy that you have a thread about buying peoples broken Apple products. Just saying.

The dude just doesnt care anymore. I think he is throwing in the towel, so he is looking to have a lil fun before he is gone for good.

@greenman100 -- I have a bad memory, so I guess it could be that we did not exchange PMs. That said, I have no records from that point (as stated), so I have to trust you whether or not I want to. As for your comment about dragonhunter being able to afford it: there is a moral high ground here that you're not addressing. Yes, IF he works for NASA as something other than janitor (IF because I don't trust a word you say), it won't sting his wallet too bad, but there is still an extra burden there that should not exist.

I think YOU should have paid for the repairs that YOU should not have caused him to need. If the iPhone was broken, it should have been listed as such, with clear descriptions of all flaws real and potential. Failing that, you should not have sold it. What you did was not exactly intelligent, in failing to do either one and instead selling a flawed iPhone as if it were just fine. Clearly it was not and obviously there is now a price paid on his end and one to be paid on yours.

Nevertheless, you are clearly interested in burning bridges. I don't necessarily think that's a good idea, but it does make it easier for the mods to decide what to do with you ;)

@techdude101: if he had cared at all ever, he wouldn't have sold a defective iPhone and none of this would have happened. He couldn't stop caring because he never started. My understanding from what I've heard from dragonhunter (he and I DID exchange --now lost, unless he has 'em-- PMs for sure) and from the previous thread, greenman100 has been behaving like this for some time.

@dragonhunter: if you still have greenman100's personal details (name/address) you might consider going through small claims court and getting your dough that way. This is clearly a $150 loss on your part at minimum, more if you count the second iPhone I assume you bought (I seem to recall you mentioning that in our PMs) because the one from greenman100 didn't work for you. I don't know (or have forgotten) where you live but in North Carolina the line between "small claims" and "no court for you" is $300. I think even greenman100 would respond to a court order -- especially since, if he doesn't, he could go to jail for (if nothing else) contempt of court. At this point, the court path is something to consider for sure.
