I considered putting them in the console section since especially the sportscar pic seems like it may be from the console version.

Should look pretty good on the PC. Let's hope that the game engine is optimized a little and that it runs alright. Looking at you GTA4.

I want to be Russian, not an alleyrat :(.

Am I the only one that actually liked Niko? The PC in San Andreas was annoying...but then again I AM from Houston so I see those types every day.

i just want something new. i thought san andreas was amazing, niko was cool too and felt like a badass but san andreas i felt like a gang member for sure.

idk something new would be cool

Looks good, need a good protagonist this time. Niko got tiring, quick.. they can learn a lot from Red Dead and John Marston. Also, I'd like to get this on my PC but if the next gen consoles can really make games look fantastic again, I'm in there for the couch + 5.1 experience.

Either way, excited.

yeah im tempted to hold off on the wii u for something bigger and better like one of them new consoles. although im sure they will suck for the first two years in terms of software and by then my computer will go back to blowing them away -_-

Best game so far was Vice City. It's honestly the only game I ever go back to play. I guess they're saving VC for the next generation of consoles, which is perfectly fine by me.

I hope the main character in GTA5 is something fun like a burnt out porn actor or something.

Max Payne was on RAGE and ran beautifully on PC, so hopefully this follows. GTA 4 ran like fucking dog shit on the consoles too though. Couple explosions and hello 15 fps.

totally agree, Vice City just ruled. The gang banger thing in SA just blew as did all the new role playing sorta stuff.

GTA IV was my favorite.

Those screens look good at first glance, but closer inspection reveals ugly things that make it seem as though these are current gen console screens.

-Blocky legs and arms on bicycle rider.

-Simple skin texture on bicycle rider.

-Muddy tree texture in car picture.

-"Paper" leaves/branch textures on trees in car texture.

-Simple light post texture in car picture.

-Fairly bad aliasing in car picture.

- Simple texture/coloring on Jet.

- Relatively bad aliasing on Jet despite blur effect (especially noticeable on the wings).

If these screens are next gen console, I won't be spending any money next gen.

None of that really screams next-gen to me.

It'd be fun if someday we're at a point where real destruction can play a role. Then they can mix in a little SIM City action and the destroyed buildng/street would be under construction as time progresses. That'd be awesome.

CJ was probably the best character in the entire series, once you get past the first story arc the game just starts going off the fucking rails (which is a good thing)

I liked Niko too. FYI, he wasn't Russian, nor was his cousin, only the mobsters were (not sure if you knew this, just figured I'd add that).

You guys are hard to please. The above screenshots look pretty good to me.

Look at the tennis court shot. The vines/foliage on the house looks like it's just pained on. The bushes look like plastic toys. Roof looks like a mushy mess, as does the background house up on the hill. It's terrible looking and I am not usually that picky about stuff like this.

Haven't played the storyline in a few years so I forgot. What was he? Ukrainian? Georgian?

The graphics aren't that bad, IMO. There's no way those are console screenshots, unless you count the WiiU.

Extended for the new screenshots.

Motorbike Picture:
- Dirt road is a blurry low resolution texture.
- Bad aliasing apparent on bikes and riders.
- Blurry and low resolution textures on mountains.
-Simplistic geometry on wall with a painted on rock texture.

Tennis picture:
- Horrific tree models, in every way.
- Terrible aliasing everywhere.
- Simplistic low resolution textures. Especially on buildings.
- repetetive texture apparent on curving walkway wall.
- Awful plant texture on house.
- Same awful texture on tennis court wall in lower right of image.
- 2D Paper Branches and leaves on trees.

Parachute:
- See most criticisms from Dirtbike and Tennis pictures.

Graphics look pretty darn good to me. Their games were never focused around visual fidelity to begin with anyways but to create a massive playground to mess around in. Definitely hyped for this iteration.

The graphics aren't awesome or anything, but I don't think some people on here play on consoles regularly enough. They're definitely not that nice looking...at least anything in motion. I'm sure the 360 could do that, (at some weird 540p resolution) but you'd be getting 10-15 fps.

Current Gen consoles can definitely run those screenshots.

They're a bit bland in places, but then you know it's going to be a vast, densely-populated area to explore. Not a few planes flying above a bare ground populated with a handful of boxes, or riding a horse through sparse plains with the occasional small town.
Ultimately it'll depend on which generation of consoles it's released for. Looks like current gen to me. Yay for 7 year old consoles.

Yeah, I guess it's not so much that it's bad as that it looks current-gen console. Was expecting better.

Typically balances out due to the large map sizes and relies more on CPUs. Then again, Ace Combat games have always looked extremely good for the hardware.

It is a current-gen console game, shouldn't we expect it to look like one? I'm not saying that's a bad thing by the way. But I don't expect next-gen graphics on PC games that are also released on current gen systems. Bump the resolution, add some AA, and make sure it runs well on PC's better hardware. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

It's not like GTA has ever been about graphics anyway. I'm sure it'd look better if it wasn't open world... but then what'd be the point?

Still one of my favorite moments ever was watching my brother play GTA 3 (i think the 2nd gta 3) and getting yanked out of his car by a cop. Luckily he had a couple police cars following so when the cop yanked him, got ran over at the same time. Thus it nullified the busted screen. So basically the room action went: Yank, Busted time it splashed on screen, cop ran over, me yelling run fool run! Got away. Pause, because we both were laughing so hard we had tears. I so wish that was recorded. It was my 2nd favorite memory. The other being, when i started recognizing by sound and esp where a person was heading on quake 2 dm1 the edge. Shot 3 rockets across the board towards the elevator and popped the person.. He nearly quit the 1on1.

Wow the graphics are current gen, oh well...

Not a deal breaker, but it would have been nice.
