Have you changed your hardware recently or done some housekeeping? I jiggled all my cards around at the weekend and had EUE's for a whole day, reinstalling the drivers helped me - perhaps try the same on your rig?

I've had EUE's on my 8800gt for god knows how long now, I've just gotten used to the fact of having to restart the client 1-2x a day but it's been a lot worse the last few days, and now my 260's have joined in on the lunacy (usually they run practically forever).

I just don't get it....I may just go and dump everything, at this point I'm really fed up. I may uninstall drivers, run driversweeper, dump the clients, install the newest Forcewares and install gpu3. I'm just really ticked off. :mad:
 
I had a bunch on the second core of a 295, then the first core started up with it. The 2nd 295 in the system was happy however. The client would EUE for NAN's detected until it paused for 24 hours. I'd shut down the client and restart it, only for it to fail again. It'd never make it past 1%. I restarted the computer and erased the FAH cores on the 2 clients that were having trouble. They both fired right up and started working. I had to go back to work, but both of them had completed 60% of the current WU. This was Saturday that I noticed this.

What temps are they running at - i've had both single and dual slot cooler 8800gt's and only had problems following excessive heat - in fact i've ot one now at 90 deg c and its running fine although downclocked slightly. Have the heatsinks had a clean recently?? It could be time for a complete machine strip down and rebuild:(

8800gt load temp with that cooler (HR-03 GT) doesn't go much above 50c.

260's have the fans running at 80%, the topmost one loads in the lower 70s, lower one is a few degrees below that (figure 73c top one, 69c bottom one). Just did a breakdown/cleaning a few weeks ago. It's not dust or heat, I'm sure. :(
Not the cards either, they work fine for everything else - no issues otherwise, gaming or general desktop stuff.

I really think it's just that I'm getting shit WUs but I'm surprised no one's mentioned having issues lately with at least one of these WU #'s. :eek: Maybe I'm getting all of 'em. :D
 
No problems here, dual 8800GTs with pretty mild overclocks and a strong power supply. Been cranking out WUs forever now, but I had to reboot the box yesterday for Windows updates. I think it was something like 380-something WUs completed on each card and zero fails when I rebooted it. Working on a 10511 @ 83% done and a 6605 57% done right now.

Only my Hackintosh quad-core has been puking on workunits - not sure why at this point, and haven't spent any time on it.

Clock the cards down and see if they start succeeding? I understand that you don't think it is the cards, but you have to eliminate everything that's under your control first or Pandegroup will just ignore you anyways.
 
I've similar problems on my sig rig that has been rock solid stable for a couple of years now. My GTX285's are heavily OC'd, but under water so definitely not temp issues (they run at 54 degrees under load).

Anyhoo I've been told this before, and the problem I have is that a stock clock card should not be throwing up EUE's. Hell - IMHO an oc'd card (or for all intents and purposes let's lump in cpu's as well) - anything that can fold that is oc'd and can run circles for days doing anything else other than running the f@h client, yet when running the f@h client throws up all over itself.... I call BS and shout "crap client". Nothing will change, I'll grumble some more, PG will thumb their nose at me and anyone else - nothing will change. It still makes 0 sense to me. (Then again I guess "sense making" and realism isn't something we should expect from PG as "donors" :D)

I have 3 cards, no problems on any of them doing anything else, including 1 card that has no oc whatsoever - yet the f@h client refuses to run for more than a few hours at a time before hitting a EUE 24 hr pause. I could RTHDRIBL or furmark these cards for days on end, no rest, and have no problems, that's why I don't understand why I have to restart gpu2 every couple hours (on average).

I do appreciate your input, and I'm not trying to thumb my nose at you...I'll just do a flush when I get a chance, flush the drivers, flush the clients, and start from scratch...maybe I'll have more luck with the gpu3 client (although I doubt it). It's gotten to a point where I almost don't even want to bother with the gpu folding, period, but then again that would be roughly 1/4 of my daily production and I can't just let that fall by the wayside over (what I perceive as) a testy client. ;)

I would say that sure it's possible that my 8800gt was becoming problematic and could need to be RMA'd soon (since pretty much every G92 card is "prone to fail", apparently), but I find it odd that my 260's are tossing up the same issues on the same WU's (or at least the same class of WU). In my own case at least I would believe it's just testy WU's; obviously I have nothing but anecdotal evidence to plead my case though. :eek:

Seems odd.

I've had GPU demons pop up before as well. I run my GPUs similarly to you it seems....stock clocks or modest OCs. Adequate cooling.

And it seems like at times I'll go for days where I do nothing but babysit temperamental gpu clients.

Lately, I haven't had such issues. Most likely due to the fact that I only have GTX275s folding at this point. In my experience, the higher end single GPU cards like GTX260, 275, 280, 285, seem to be a little more robust. My EUE nightmares seem to affect my 9800GX2s the most, and my 8800gt and 8800gts are problematic at times as well.

All I can say is, I don't have an answer, but I sympathize.

There is a memory tester that will stress the card very hard - PG say that if it fails one specific test its time to rma the card, other than that and what has already been covered i am out of idea's:confused:

the problem is those 105XX WU's for some reason hate windows 7 and the 101xx i think were the other ones.. i had tons of issues with them when i was running the gpu client on windows 7.. i havent run the gpu client since i reinstalled windows 7 about a month ago.. but on XP my gtx 260 had 0 issues with any WU's..
 
Just fired up my gx2 and 8800gt, while they could use a cleaning they havnt done this yet, xp64 if that helps. They've been offline a month before I yesterday and came on just fine barring the old work that was there when the rig went offline

I've had a similar problem with my GTX 275s running the 105xx WUs with Vista 64 bit. I retired the cards for now and will use them in the next build.

Well, yeah - probably. Heck, they appear to have blacklisted my account over there and I haven't posted there in years and don't remember saying anything controversial. Wacky...

Single-bit errors would be enough to cause problems with F@H on a GPU, but you'd probably never see it as a visual artifact while playing games. Heck, it could be an issue with the PCIE bus on your motherboard which is why it is happening with two different cards if they are both in the same system.
 
Additional info. My XP x64 boxes have not had any issues whatsoever. My sig rig, Vista x64, has issues almost every day now. I'm getting drivers errors a couple of times a day with certain WUs. It gets to the point that it brings the whole box down (sometimes BSOD).

In my case the errors happened before and after a motherboard change.
