I have a 6 year old setup. i5 3570k @4.2 GHz, 16 GB Ram, asus p8z77-v, seasonic x560 and a 1080p monitor and a GT 730 DDR5. I plan to stay with this setup for now. Please recommend me the best GPU that I can pair it with the 3570k without bottlenecking.

at that 1080P resolution with that CPU I would say the safest bet is to go with an RX 590 or a cheaper factory OC'd RX 580/GTX 1060 beyond that level of performance your CPU will become a serious bottleneck.. most I would ever touch will be in the GTX 1070/Vega56 level of performance and then even keeping 60fps in a lot of tittles will be hard and you will be wasting a lot of GPU juice there.

Thank you for your recommendations.
I am thinking about a 1070 atm. Also do you think the setup would be strong enough for the next few years considering how multithreaded the games
are becoming and myself investing such amount of money?

In my place 1060 and 590 are almost the same price. Thanks for the advice!

Nope.. in fact actually for most modern 2017 onwards AAA games isn't strong enough.. tho overclocking further to around 4.7ghz will greatly help. on many ways just 4 cores doesn't cut anymore.

then RX 590 no questions.. it's a great 1080P performer, I have in one of my machines an RX 580 overclocked to 1530mhz and do a flawless work in any kind of tittle I throw at it..

Agree on the 980Ti... if he can snag one used, roughly the equivalent of a 1070. I was just suggesting something "good enough" to game at 1080p with his rig that's price sensitive and would be a huge improvement over a GT 730. I still say a 1070Ti is a bit overkill... and pricey @ around ~$400. A RX590 would also work.

Do you think my psu can handle the power considering a rx 590 tdp of 225W?

The 590 is a rip-off.

Get one of these: 1070 used ($250-275), 980 Ti used ($200-$240), 1060 6GB new (no more than $240), 580 8GB new (no more than $220)

980ti or 1070ti or a heavily overclocked 1070. For this gen go with a 2070 if you fancy rtx

He's already made the jump so comments at this point are worthless but I'll add my 2 cents anyway... I recently decided to vote with my wallet on how I feel about Nvidia's predatory business practices and mega-inflated pricing structure. I found a Vega 64 card for $400 and jumped on it. So far VERY happy. My last 3 video cards were team green but if they are going to push around the card manufacturers, reviewers and now their customers, I cannot continued to buy their products. A 1070Ti would have yielded similar performance in most cases for a lot less power usage but no way am I contributing to the tyranny! RTX so far is a gimmick! It makes everything look glossy which basically is the exact opposite of realistic. BF5 everything shines like it's ready for a parade. There is a war going on, no one is waxing floors and cleaning windows! Everything should be covered in dust and look like crap. Does real-time ray tracing have a future, I'm sure it does but it has a long way to go.

Ordered a 1070. Thanks guys!!
