GPU fan won't stop

I have a ATI 5770 and I noticed that if I'm playing a game for a while the fan will kick in. The problem is that after gaming the fan won't turn off or even slow down until i turn off the computer.
 
I turned off the game and went out for a movie, i assume it went down, how to check the temps? I will try re-installing the drivers later.
