It has been running just fine, the GPU is at stock eVGA GTX 260. I was wondering whenever anybody knows what does this means? At the time of the error, the GPU was at 75c so I just throttled the GPU FAN to 100% now, it should be at the par of 60c at load.

Driver version is 190.38

Can anybody offer me an insight?

Hmm, that shouldn't happen if your card is running at stock. It's possible that you just got a bad workunit. It isn't really cause for concern unless it starts happening frequently.
 
That happens to me on occasion for no apparent reason. It is probably a corrupt or unstable WU. Ignore it especially if your card is running cool and low frequencies. The client will DL a new WU. I would only become concerned if this issue occurs frequently like Zero stated.
 
Alright, I guess I can take the tinfoil hat off now, it seemed that the other WU went along without a hitch at everything stock, including the fan profile. I just don't like failures.

But with failures comes better understanding and success.
 
If its dedicated folding machine, and noise isnt a problem I would up the fan speed.
For me it seems to keep the cards a little more stable.

Depending on where it is, I will put it between 70 and 100%.

It's not yet a fully dedicated folding rig. But it will be after I get the dually up ;)
 
You can get bad Work units?

I just thought my computer was giving out...

Another one crashed. Right now I've the FAN Profile set to 100% for the rest of the day, I think the temp hit 80c or so when it crashed.

^^ what he said, Ive had folding with an OC be enough to crash an entire system to the point were I get HDD errors and have to redo the OS
 
Are you folding in a cardboard box?

You should not be hitting thoes temps at default speeds.

Check your airflow. Does your card have access to fresh air?
 
Yeah, 80C on a stock clocked card is mighty hot. Might want to be checking the card for dust build-up and make sure your card is getting good airflow.
 
GPU is not OC'd. CPU is OC'd to 3.0 CPU is not the issue here. Good airflow, you betcha! The room temps are below 70f and my CPU barely hits 50c at load. I cleaned the system only few weeks ago. Could have not be that dusty and so on.

Let me check the logs for the past few hours and see what've been happening.

Last three WU's has been non-issue and it seems this current project is a non-issue as well. It must have been the heat. Will re verify the airflow and etc later on.
 
maybe its a PSU issue, cards pulling for power thats not there
 
Well, since it is an EVGA (they're cool with aftermarket heatsinks and stuff), you could try reapplying the thermal grease.
 
I am getting these all the time. It may be a driver issue on *some* GTX260 cards. If you roll back to an old driver like the 185s or 182s it goes away. As soon as you go back to the current driver it starts up again. At least that is my experience. I thought it might go away as I went from Vista to Win7 but the problem persists.
