don't know if this is where the thread should go, but..
asus P5Q
Q6600
A Data 2X2Gb ram
cool master xtreme 650W psu
antec 300 case
evga GTX260 super overclocked
just finish building this computer for a friend. he's on a budget, so I tried to keep the price down on everything, and spend the majority on the video card since he wanted this for gaming
every time I start up the computer, all everything comes on for a second, then turns off for about 3 sec then it restarts. after it restart everything is fine, and runs great. I have no idea what is going on. it's overclocked to 3.0 now, but it didn't make a difference when I set the bios back to stock. the only thing I can think of is the two 4 pin power connector on the mobo. one of the connector is blocked off with a plug, so I didn't plug anything into it. besides, the psu only had one 4 pin plug
could that be the problem?
the other problem is that for some strange reason, cpuz can't read the ram timing. type and size is ok, but the timing is blank. could it be the cheap ram?
