Google Chrome vs. IE9

It is rather interesting how Microsoft attempts to dissuade users from using anything other than Bing by requiring them to download plug-ins for alternate search providers. "Clunky" is kind of an understatement.

I can't find any luck online, and didn't want to start a new thread so I was hoping some of ya'll can help me. How do I change the shortcut key for "open in new tab" from "t" to "w"? In Chrome, if I right click on a link, press "w," it opens it in a new window, but I'm so used to using IE and "w" opens a new tab instead. I basically want to right click a link, press "w" in Chrome, and have it opened to a new tab (instead of a window). Anyone got any ideas? Also, how do I bookmark stuff?

Hi, I recently decided to download an older version of Google chrome - 16.0.912.75.
This version is from January 2012, much more stable, doesnt crash like the newset updated version, has the + on the open new table box and everything seems faster and more stable. I also turned off the google updater in msconfig.

If you want an older version of google chrome, you can download it here.

IE9 is the best browser right now IMO. It has excellent security built in, and has great implementation of graphics hardware acceleration.

Google Chrome over IE9. IE9 is an attempt to look alike to Chrome, but still has the same old sucky backcode.

IE9 does look like chrome. Outlook looks like Gmail too IMO.

I still find IE 9 has problems with some pages - yesterday couldn't book a hotel room, as it was showing some strange bugs, but the same page worked perfectly in Firefox. ALso having some problems with online banking, and other pages that require forms to fill, or online shopping

When that happens just go to Compatibility Mode, that'll fix the problem 90% of the time. The only sites that I see any problem with are a few that use Disqus which is crappier than IE by far.

Firefox both in Windows and Mac OS. Firebug for firefox is stronger than Chrome!

IE is the option when I'm checking a IE ONLY site...

I've never had a single crash in chrome, and it's been my primary browser on multiple machines for a couple of years now.

I haven't even tried IE9 yet.

I've used IE8, but only to download Nvidia drivers and the Google Chrome installer, when I'm stuck at VESA graphics during a new install.

So for direct comparison, I am not the best person to speak about IE. Old habits just die hard. I didn't trust IE in the 90s, and I've just never given them another chance.

I tried the beta release of Chrome when it first came out, and liked it, but decided it still needed some work. A couple of years ago I made a permanent switch from Firefox to Chrome. It felt much more lightweight and fast. Plugins are still not quite as good, but sufficient now.

I gota say ie 9 is pretty awesome, it has its faults, i still use opera for some things and chrome for other but i gota say ie9 looks great
