The desk I have my computer on now is horrible for gaming. My wrists are complaining at the angles just thinking about it. Looking for something that will be comfortable but not too expensive hopefully.
 
The perfect gaming desk for me would just be a big slab desk. More space = better.

Seriously dude, no such thing as a gaming desk (not that I know of). Just look for one that big and comfortable. My friend has a bunch of junky desks in his room setup for LANS but I wouldn't game on them if I had a choice. Maybe you can try getting a higher/lower chair or use wrist cushions.
 
I have to agree that a good chair is most of the battle. If your desk is more or less ok (minus a few inches of height either way), get a nice, comfortable chair that you can lean back on and sit in a variety of positions with.If your current desk is too low you can raise it with bricks or something. If it's too high, crank the chair up a bit.
 
kitchen table works fine... havent used one in a long time but youll have plenty of room on and under..
 
If your wrists are hurting, you need to consider ergonomics. Your arms should be level from the elbows and not point up. You may need a keyboard tray to ensure that. Do not use the kickstand on your keyboard that makes you type with your wrists bent upwards.

Hubby games a lot and has a 6' conference room table for a desk, to which he added a reticulating keyboard tray.

I've been living with carpal tunnel syndrome for 10 years now. Don't pound the keyboard, use the minimal pressure needed to depress the keys. :)
 
This desk is really just too high I guess. If I try to raise my chair high enough where im actually resting my hands comfortably I just hit the bottom of the desk with the arms. My mistake for buying one thats so high.

When I said "good gaming desk" I meant a desk thats good for gaming, not a "gaming desk".
 
Damn, I know someone at Gen[M]ay has a 10k desk, but 20k is just madness.

Any desk you feel comfortable sitting at works.

I think the story is some guy had it custom built and the contractor or whoever built it ripped him off badly.
 
Seeing that desk makes me want to buy $200 worth of tools and lumber and bandages and create my own desk. That would kick ass - a large part-of-the-room [most of the wall] combination desk and workstation with just a couple of long flat surfaces - one roughly keyboard/mouse height, the other slightly higher behind for the monitor.

[edit] but paying $10,000 for it is freaking stupid.
 
I'm planning to pickup a 3M AKT100N as soon as I can. I've got one at work, and I love it. I've got a bad back too, and I was amazed at how much it helped.

 
Best Desk Ever: Ikea Jerker with extra shelf and 2 swing tables.
Its roomy, comfortable, and customizeable, i have mine set 2 holes up from a recommended position. Its nice since i can setup the desk just how i like it.

I bought a humongous sized pc desk at a Staples closeout sale.

Top is 4' wide X 3' deep. Lt milky green beveled glass on top of an oak frame w/ chrome trim. Think I got $100 off & paid only $150.

major pain to assemble.

(wait for closeout sales or discontinued ones locally)
 
Wow. the jerker is quite cool. How much did that set you back?

(also, can it support 19"+ CRT's without breaking?)

i too have a jerker.... if i'm not too lazy (unlikely) i'll take a picture this weekend, mine is black with 3 of the shelf thingys and 4 of the side umm thingies and I love it!
 
Am I the only one who finds "Jerker" to be a funny ass name for a PC desk? I mean, come on, gaming isn't the only thing you do there... :)

I have a $40 Wal-Mart desk. It came with some dumbass keyboard tray, but i hate those, so I just never installed it. It has a side shelf for my case, enough space on top for my keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, and random stuff, honestly it is anything I could want in a desk. The height is good, the only thing that bugs if is a crossbar for support that bumps my knees, but that isn't a big deal. Check out your local Wal-Mart, find the cheapass wooden desk they sell, see if you like it.
 
just go buy a 6' folding table from staples they run around $60 work great for a desk.
