So I have a CM Storm Scout 2 case that supports up to 9 fans. I don't know how many of those I'll actually have (probably closer to 5 is my guess in the end) but I was looking for a good reliable, cheap fan controller. Something I shouldn't have to replace. I like flashy but it isn't necessary. Any input is great.
Thanks
- Dan.

What's considered to be "cheap"?

Sorry about the long time without a reply. I don't know about the wattage. Thats part of the issue I'm having. Most of the cheaper ones I like end up being 10w. Is that going to be enough to power 5 or 6 fans? (thats what most of these control) I looked at a couple of touch screen ones too. I like the novelty of them but I dont want to get into anything that isn't going to work.

No problem running 8 GT AP-15s off my Scythe 3.5" 8-fan controller. $20 bucks too.

Sunbeam Rheobuses tend to be cheap but very effective, I have one running my system from 2008. It has 4 dials for 4 3-pin fans.

I'm sure newer ones are even better. Also search ebay, I remember seeing a few from China that looked interesting.

I really like this one (again mostly for the gimmicky details) It looks sharp and while I'll never need to I like that novelty of adjusting my fans using my phone. But like I said. If a standard slider control or knobs are solid and this thing is junk I'd rather go with the sliders or knobs.

I have that fan controller, some guys wrote a cool bit of software for it called Phoebetria, now you can control all the fans from your desktop and make your own curve settings etc without all of the BS problems of their own software.

30 watts will run anything short of the bid Delta fans, more than enough for most case fans.

Ok after a bunch of soul searching I think I'm going to go with the Bitfenix recon:

Unless anyone has any other comments. I like that in auto mode it will auto adjust to keep things at a set temp if I forgot to clock them up for gaming and I like that It isnt very flashy (as far as touchscreen controllers go anyway)

One more question. These controllers that come with probes... are there certain areas I should focus on placement? And is it ok to stick one right on my CPU heatsink?

Also, only 10w per channel but my CM Sickle flow fans (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103091&Tpk=coolermaster fan 120 red) only run 4.2 watts so two fans per channel should be do-able right?
