Thank god and good riddance. Enjoy your Nvidia drivers which have on 2 occasions killed video cards across the world versus ATI's drivers which just seem to annoy you because you do not know how to setup a computer properly. Heres to hoping you are in the next batch of Nvidia drivers that fries video cards so we can watch you complain about how bad Nvidia sucks and that you will never use them again so I see intel integrated drivers in your future until you have a problem with those and swear them off, then what?

1 less person to buy the ATI card that someone else wanted so I see this as a plus really :)

I am seriously sick of seeing people call themselves [H]ard when they have no clue how to properly use the hardware/software they put in their system then rant about it making it sound like it's the hardware/softwares fault when the problem lies between their keyboard and their chair. Friggin I D 10 T errors.

Fresh Win7 Install
'Older, Proven' Drivers
Updated Motherboard BIOS
Updated VGA card BIOS
Tested individual RAM sticks
Rails showing correct voltages with multimeter
Stock CPU and VGA settings as pertaining to overclocking
Disabled MSI Afterburner ability to access VGA low-level functions for monitoring
2 NEW MSI Twin Frozr 3 6950s

Purchased two GTX 570s and haven't had any issues.
My complaint with NVIDIA is the cost for performance. AMD wins hands down.

Probably a faulty card tbh, it does happen.
 
I cant wait to move back to ATI. No driver crashes here but I cant wait for eyefinity with my HD TV :)

There was also a Voodoo3 2000, GF2 GTS, GF3 Ti500, and Matrox G450 in there somewhere (though I don't think I ever had these when they were actually popular, it was years later in secondary machines I believe).

The only driver complaint I can ever remember was actually trying to get a beta Matrox G450 driver they had for Windows 2003 to work in Windows Home Server to give me a widescreen resolution... and obviously that was basically trying to get an unsupported resolution to work on an unsupported driver on an unsupported operating system, lol

Aside from that, I don't think I've ever had a serious issue that pushed me one way or the other.

This^. Our first clue is how he assumes this is some horrible issue widespread enough to quit AMD cards forever, yet can't find a solution on the modern internets.

The bottom line is not that he's not happy. OP describes a generic error which is not vendor dependent and insinuate that it is. I've shown you in this thread Nvidia's equalient when it comes to TDR error which also describes causes, which often is not even releated to the video card:

Now you, who have had similar issues with AMD, would probably disagree that grabbing any AMD card would result in no bsods, right and that going AMD instead of Nvidia isn't a real solution?

Well, thats why people react. By claiming that a generic error is vendor dependent, you are either by pure ignorance or on purpose by your own agenda misleading other users. Thats not a good thing.

The OP wasn't created to get help solving an issue. There wasn't anything constructive about it.

On the Nvidia thread, they at least try to find a common denomitator as to why they got crashes. The purpose was constructive in way to find a solution. This thread fails in that regard.

I hope at least people who read this thread don't make such general statements as in this thread again. Now they can't hide behind being ignorant, not knowing that these problems can occur regardless if you have AMD or Nvidia. If the 200+ members of the "The Nvidia 400/500 series lockup club" is insufficient evidence, I can surely give more. Just don't spread things that are not true. Its not helping, but rather hurting other users. Thats bad community spirit.
 
LOL this makes me laugh, SOUNDS LIKE USER ERROR. I have no problems eunning 3 6970's in TRI-FIRE on my main rig, and i have no problems running 2 480's in sli on my secondary rig. Im not partial to either company i love em both!
 
I just said "Hello AMD/Radeon" last week.

Loving my 6950 2GB card, I have had no issues running anything and everything I want :) Of course nobody cares about that because it seems today the only time people are happy is when there is drama or a fight going on (I blame reality TV on this)

If you did indeed go to the length of formatting and still had the problem, just RMA the card and get a replacement. You do realize that there is no such thing as 100% reliability/uptime/ or product perfection.

My issue could have been my motherboard. I lucked out with x camp and other people may have had a better experience with y camp.
 
You spelled "Radeon" incorrectly in the thread title, I am going to have to assume user error has much to do with the problems you had.
