Well, I am moving into a new apartment soon and want a nice LCD that would also make a great computer monitor. I know about the Westy 37", but they are hard to come by around here and I don't think i'd have enough room fo rthat on my desk. So I need to find a great 26-32" LCD TV with hopefully great resolution and crisp pictue that would make a GREAT monitor to compliment my Shuttle.

Thanks,
James

Grr, went to work today to check out some of our TVs, but the darn streaming videos were down due to the weather... Anyone have any suggestions on which to look for?

Samsung makes a good variety of LCD's that have PC inputs. I have even seen a few that have VGA and DVI input.

I know many people like the Westinghouse LCDs (Best Buy), but I have not read up on the current offerings from westinghouse.

Wow... Polariod makes TV's now, the heck? Well, anyone know what models of Samsung to look for, I get a nice discount with them!

What you need to do is go into Best Buy with laptop and a VGA cable and test each monitor for yourself before buying, they let me do it. I tested the liked the 27" Westinghouse. If you find you like the Westinghouse 27 or 32, go to Newegg, its much cheaper. I wish I would have bought it off Newegg for the price, but I was impatient. Or you can buy in store for the ease of return if there are issues.

If you have a Costco nearby and they sell what you want, that would be the best option for return policy. LCD TVs, especially the non big name manufacturers (Sony, Sharp, Panasonic, etc) can have many issues. Heck even the big names have issues.

So, I went and bought a Samsung 32" HD LCD-TV (LN-S3241D) and I run it through VGA to the computer... But, I have a major problem! Everything I try to load of a game such as CS:S, the monitor loses connection with the computer and says "searching for signal" or "setting not available."

Is there any way to make a game actually work?

Its probably since the game is still set to a high res for your monitor. Either hook your old mon back up, load the game and lower the resolution or find the settings file for each game and delete it so the game will default to 640x480.
