what do you mean you own it? what are you going to do with it that I can't do with my steam versions of mount and blade or witcher?
There's not much of a difference other than you don't need a client to launch it or deal with intrusive DRM that came with disk versions.

Good luck downloading and playing any of your games you don't have installed if the Steam service or your internet is out.
 
And if your internet is out and you don't have the game installed, how is that any different with GOG?

Because if you have the installer at least downloaded and stored somewhere (just like old school optical media) you can just install it whenever you want.

Listen, I'm not defending one way or the other, it just seems rather silly to completely disregard a great company/service just because they don't give you a Steam key.
