glow free ips 27" list

hi,

I hate glow. Lets write a list which 27" doesn't have glow or have minimum glow. Best would be also pwm free, but ....

So far I know:
- Eizo CG
- HP DreamColor Z27x (pwm 20 kHz)
- Eizo FlexScan EV2736W (pwm under 20% brightness)
 
i confess that the title sound a lot like "100% virgin hookers list". Do these monitors have some kind of polarizer film or is it just market hype?
 
Dell U2414H and Eizo EV2450 are low glow IPS panels, believed to have A-TW polarizer

The Eizo EV2736W is no longer glow free.

That uses a VA panel.

Two of them are professional displays with AT-W polarizers; the last one used a PLS panel that was glow-free for unknown reasons.
 
Didn't think this was possible shy of a custom Vega mod job. ;)
 
Eizo CX271, CG277, HP Z27X and the Samsung LTM270DL06 (originally used by the EV2736W) all use glow free panels. The LTM270DL06 has been found in the AOC Q2770PQU, matte Qnix/X-Star and Viewsonic VP2770 as well, but they usually use regular PLS panels.
 
Really it should be STANDARD for any IPS screen over about £300 to have a polarizer.. But meh not a lot I can do about it.

too bad that these cheep one seems to have the panel lottery.... :/

900€+ is a bit too much for me for the eizos/hp - the hp does also still have pwm (even when very high...)
 
backlight bleeding is due to a not uniform backlight. glow is dependent on the angle you watch at your panel. when its not straigt, you see a glow (search on youtube for examples)
 
Sounds like the same issue to me. Backlight bleeding is the light 'bleeding' through at the edge of the display, typically caused by inadequate baffling around the diffuser. There's a design and a quality control aspect to that effect, and I'm not certain that a list will help without a large sample population of each monitor.
 
Glow is something different. IPS panels have a uniform glow when viewed at extreme horizontal angles. I haven't seem it happen vertically, but it might.

It's just the nature of that panel type. There's a reason it's been coined "IPS glow"
