Hi guys, quick question

On the gigabyte website, it says that in order for the e2140 CPU to be compatible, bios revision F9 needs to be on the board. As this is a fairly new revision, I doubt that this bios would be on the board if I bought it from new.

The question is, what would happen if I plugged the CPU in and switched the PC on, and it was an earlier bios? Would the computer still boot (obviously unidentified and probably running at incorrect speeds) and then allow me to update the bios, or would it not work at all?

Many thanks!

you should be fine... the bios might boot your FSB in 266 instead of 200, but i'm sure your CPU will hold.

I love you guys.... EXACTLY what I wanted to hear after a crap day at work

Long live [H]
