So at lunch I won a $50 gift certificate to Circuit City. I am trying to decide what I should get to be able to get the most bang for my $50. I was kinda looking to upgrade my folding rig a little, maybe by replacing the stock cooler and then overclocking the heck out of it.
I am leaning towards maybe the Thermaltake V1 CPU Cooler but thats a good bit more than Newegg is charging, and I can't decide if I like it just because it looks pretty. It seems to have some good reviews. A little cheaper, would be the Zalman CNPS9500. I am sure this would do just as good a job, and would be cheaper and just a bit lighter. I am not a fan of the LEDs in either one of them though. Is this the same Zalman without LEDs? It seems to be pretty good either with or without LED and frankly I don't need the 1337 N3RD action that the LED would bring to the table.
I am going to be installing Vista Ultimate 64 soon, and might end up having some fiasco with my wireless card stemming from that. I will probably hold off till then to make the purchase.
Any other suggestions though? I would like to maybe be able to see a PPD increase because of this purchase, but its not a necessary requirement.
