Hah, I had Gex for 3DO and later picked up the trilogy for PS1 (including the inferior version of Gex 1 which I just assumed would be better). I actually did like the first one enough to finish it. Gex himself seemed so fluidly animated at the time, kind of like Rayman and Earthworm Jim. The game actually got great reviews on 3DO, but I'm sure part of that was that it stood out as one of the relatively few quality games for the system amongst a sea of mid and crap titles. Gex had charm and attitude, and that went a LONG way in the 90s.

I don't think I ever completed 2 or 3, but not because they were bad...there were a plethora of great games released during that time, and I was already playing most of the shooters and racers that I could get my hands on. But they are solid, fun platformers.

Limited Run has asked Nintendo to pull Gex Trilogy from the eShop as it doesn’t work on Switch 2

"The publisher notes that 12 of its previously released games, which weren’t working on Switch 2, have all been fixed in the console’s recently released firmware update."
"Nintendo released a Switch 2 firmware update earlier today, and Limited Run has reported that it appears to have fixed the issues with most of its affected games.
However, the recently released Gex Trilogy doesn’t appear to have been fixed in the update, and Limited Run is in the process of submitting a patch to Nintendo. Because this patch will be delayed, however, it has asked Nintendo to remove the game from sale until it’s fixed."
