I just got a soundblaster x-fi fatality gamer card, and I want it to recognize my center channel. I am using 2.1 plus center channel, and while it sounds excellent, I am frusterated by the lack of recognition of the front channel. Even when I set the card to 5.1 modes the center channel doesnt even sound off. Something is amiss here. My speakers are logitechs. They were 5.1 but I decided to not go 5.1 cause I dont have room for the rear 2 speakers.

are you using spdif out or analogue out?
I am using analogue out. I have the center channel installed in the right jack, cross referenced with the manual.
Is there a speaker matrix mode?
What type of audio are you listening to?

Speaker Matrix Mode? I dont believe so but I dont know what that is either. All kinds, movies, and games.

Edit: yes my speakers are capable of it. They are logitechs...I believe 530s or something, they are 5.1 but I have them at a 2.1 right now.

you will have to set it as 5.1 in your speakers settings in the control panel and in your audio console.

see the thing is I'm doing that and yet it still will not give me a center channel.

Check all the cables and make sure everything is plugged in correctly.

then in the speaker settings in the control panel do the speaker test, click on every speaker and see which ones you get sound out of.

It sounds to me like there is a cable either loose or not plugged into the right place.
