I have been tinkering with trying to quite down my PC a bit, my CPU fan at 5500RPM just is not cutting it. I brought it down to 3300RPG, which cannot be heard over my other fans. Thing is, I am getting the oddest temp readings ever. All temps are farenheite BTW. I was idling at 84 when the fan was at 5500, set it to 3300 and it went up to 90 (using MBM5). Thats perfectly fine. But, I rebooted my computer, and checked in my bios to see if they were accurate. At 5500RPM, my bios was showing 105, and when I turned it down to 3300, it only went to 107. Rebooted my computer, MBM5 showed 130, because my CPU was at 100% usage loading all the programs in my startup. Once I was all loaded, it hung at 125 for about 30 seconds, then hovered at 100 for a minutre or so, and as I type now I am back at 91. I am curois though as to why MBM is reporting almost 20 degress lower than my bios. It is correct that your bios puts no strain on your CPU, so woudlnt that be your idle temp? What numbers shoudl I be going by? I want to fun my fan quite, but not if despite what MBM5 says, im running at 110 degrees. Thats fine idle, but not once I get under load.

its a funny question, i just always go by mbm which my not always be right. i would say download the new bios (if you can) to see if it'll fix it. that 4-6C degrees could make a difference if your overclocking, obviously.

I also tried MBProbe for the hell of it. I don't know if its just crappy software, or it doesn't support my board, but it predicted my system to be on its deathbed. Said CPU was 30F (-1C) and it reported my voltages so screwy that every single one of them let off a warning beep, they were all a full volt off. Anyone know of another, reliable CPU temp program I Coudl check with?

And qwerty, I am overclocking indeed, but currently at my max. I won't be pushing this CPU (2800+) and highter than what you see in my sig, now im just trying to find safe temps for it.

uhg....bump, I guess. I jsut played a game of Half-Life 2, and MBM Dash showed my CPU never went over 132F. That is tollerable, but not if MBM5 is off.
