Getting constant "Display driver has stopped" messages

I'm at somewhat of a loss here. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a relatively new build that's been having major issues with the 270X drivers. It doesn't matter whether they're from ASUS or AMD, there's constant random video shutdown and reload along with the wonderful little "Display driver has stopped and restarted" dialogue bubble. It may go for an hour without appearing and it may happen every five or six minutes.

The hardware is all new, less than 6 months old. The video card has been installed within the past week, replacing a GTX 460 that decided to go belly-up. The system was formatted and installed clean when the cards were switched out.

The 270X is driving a Samsung 24" LCD (DVI-D out) and an Epson projector via DVI-ethernet bridge. Everything was happy before the old second-hand GTX started to wear out and undetect/detect.

Seasonic 600W PSU
ASUS Z87 Pro, latest BIOS
i7-4770, 16GB Corsair DDR3
ASUS R9 270X
Samsung 840 Pro SSD
2x WD Black 2TB in RAID1
Windows 8.1

Troubleshooting attempted:
  • Clean OS install prior to installing drivers
  • Tried 13.12 and 14.2 drivers
  • Disconnected DVI-ethernet bridge
 
Your PSU may be the issue. Do you have another one to test with?
 
Sorry, I was off on the PSU. It's a SeaSonic G Series SSR-550RM. Checked the rails with a multimeter, everything checks out.

I'll try 13.9 tomorrow morning. I'm also going to try disabling PCIe APSM in the BIOS to see if that helps.
