General instability

In a near brand new system I've been experiencing some strange instability issues. Nothing specific, and always very random. I've checked the majority of the components, and am curious as to whether or not my PSU could be the culprit. Its new as well, but that doesnt mean anything.

Thermaltake 420w PurePower
A64 3000+ (chumped Clawhammer, *sigh* and C0 stepping to boot. I got shafted)
Asus K8V SE Deluxe
2x512 Corsair ValueSelect PC3200
2x80gb WD 7200rpm
LG CD/DVD combo drive
ATI x800 Pro VIVO (failed the softmod, *cries* bad luck or what?)
floppy, a few cathodes (usually turned off), and only a couple 80mm case fans (for now, $$$)

I was pretty certain that should run it all fine, especially considering I am not OCing yet. Any comments? I dont have any tools to measure the voltages and whatnot (is that it?) so I know thats pretty vague, but just curious if anybody has any opinions on the matter.

I'm not a fan of that PSU. It may or may not be your problem. Make sure your memory timings are loose.

Loose like 2.5/4/4/6?

Sometimes it feels like the ram itself that's causing some of these issues, but what do I know.
