Geforce 770 & 780 coming in May

The chip is actually slower than Titan and is internally called Titan LE, which means that GTX 780 should end up slower than Titan cards. Our sources claim that the card should end up about 30% faster than the GTX 680 and the launch date is expected by the end of May

If true, what about the pricing scheme since Titan is currently around 40% faster than the GTX 680 (which would make the Titan only 10% faster than the LE version)?

If it's priced right ($500 ish), I'm definitely in for a 780.

The 760 Ti looks interesting as a $300 card. If it's noticeably better than my current GTX 670, I'm all for it.

Nice. but i'll prob sit this round out and wait for the true next gen.

Have plenty of power now plus we get new consoles in a few months.

This is good for those who upgrade but yeah, for those of us who already have the 680 or AMD's counterpart, it's better to just wait for next gen cards. I'm looking forward to see what Maxwell brings. Hopefully more performance with lesser power consumption.

I don't think it's ever worth upgrading from one generation to the next for anything. Nvidia's gains always seem to be around 30% per generation so I'm hoping to be blown away by the GTX780 in comparison to my GTX480.

GTX480 has been holding up well but I have a backlog of games I didn't want to play because the 480 couldn't do 60FPS with most of the details cranked. Looking forward to cleaning that up this summer.

30% improvement over the 680 is unlikely. Probably more in the 15-25% range.

I don't get the specs on the 770. It's basically a 4GB 680. And there's a huge spec cliff between the 770 and 780.

Damn... the 780 (if those specs are correct) is a fucking bargain compared to the Titan.

Damn. Why not 3gb on the 760ti? Anyway, good news I suppose. Sticking with my 7950 for a while longer though.

I may finally have a reason upgrade my gpu's, dual GTX 780's would sure be nice. Will wait for the official launch stats before I dust the credit cards off :)

If they fix the dual display issue, and it's reasonably quiet, I might go for a 780 and a Sharp 4K.

Wish the 770 was more than 256 bit. Well at any rate, looks like ill be holding off upgrading another month to see if this pans out.

Wanted more than 3GB on the 780, but I'll take it. Only a small amount of games can max it out anyways.

It's looking like it's most likely going to be a 5GB card, which was previously rumored as a "titan LE" nickname, that ends up as the GTX 780. I'm definitely in for one...

http://www.brightsideofnews.com/new...2c-gtx770-is-gtx6802c-gtx760ti-is-gtx670.aspx

But Swed just list a 3GB 780.

I wonder which is right. Kyle said some info was in accurate, and that was the 5GB info I posted.
Now I have Surround again, I need 4GB or more. My 660ti was maxed @ 2.9GB / 1440p playing Crysis 3.
In the Titan review, they went above 4GB in Surround.

We'll see.

We have pics of a 5gb card that looks like a titan... so I'm going with the Titan LE being a GTX 780 as most likely combined with the overall trend of rumors right now. :) 3 out of 4 are rumoring 5gb and 2496 cuda cores, while one is rumoring gk110 with 3gb it looks like.

Must be the $499 and $599 price points I saw earlier. Makes sense.

In the Titan review, they hit almost 5GB in Surround.

We'll see.

I can see there being two SKU's... the 3GB part priced to compete at the $450-$500 range and the 5GB part to be a "premium" SKU for those willing to shell out $600-$650 (depending on version, manufacturer, factory OC, etc), a few weeks/months after the 3GB has had time to settle into the market.

Yep, two sku's will cater to both crowds, single and multi-monitor customers.

But does not make the GTX Titan ridiculously overpriced?

The 780 could be once again, Compute gimped. That feature alone to me is worth $300.
I still think the Titan is worth it for that alone. 6GB, Compute and it's still faster than any single GPU being released by Nvidia until Maxwell.

$1,000!

While I can see the difference between a Ford and a Ferrari, the difference between the GTX and LE is much more subtle as they presumably perform similarly (10% advantage for the GTX?)

The Titan is much more oriented for the compute enthusiast. A 690 is more powerful for gaming than a Titan. However, a Titan will make a 690 run crying home for mommy when it comes to pure CUDA and compute crunching ability.

I see the Titan more as a low-end compute enthusiast part and a "proof of concept" that the 110 Kepler can perform in the desktop space.... the 700 series is the actual retail part using that proof of concept, except with the compute flipped off or gimped severely. As pointed out above, that is worth at least $300 in savings

Running 3 144hz monitors off a pair of 680s is good, but I still feel like I need just a bit more oomph.

Not sure what I could get for my 680s ($350-380?) but between that and selling my old monitors, I figure I should have most of the cash on hand and the extra memory and extra power would be very usable in my system.

So for 1080p gaming the GTX780 3GB should be plenty? I am thinking of selling both Nvidia Brand 660Ti's and going for just one 780 if it can run everything at 1080p gaming. No surround.

These price points are getting ridiculous. Paid $230 shipped for my 570 brand new, and now the 660ti is in that realm. If the 760ti was $230-260, I'd take it seriously.

Oh well, going to wait for the real next gen from nVidia and AMD.

However, those are some nice specs, pricing aside.

Yikes, 770 at 499 just when I bought a 680 (470ish.)

I bought an EVGA card, looks like that step up may com in handy.

You must have bought the 570 at the tail-end of the cycle because those went for $330-350 easy at launch.

Could very well be, as it was sometime in the middle or late middle of '09 when I bought it. I didn't follow pricing trends since my 275 was pretty sufficient for what I was doing up until I saw the price of the 570 the day I decided to buy.
