Current specs;
Intel 960
6GB DDR3 @ 1066 I believe
HSI 6850 @ 1GB
128GB SSD / 2TB System Storage


I really don't think the CPU is bad, I plan on upgrading to 12GB DDR3, so Im not terribly worried about that, my question is, will the 6850 handle this for 1080p gameplay? Should I upgrade?
 
Your CPU should be fine, you might want to overclock a bit though. As far as your gpu goes, it depends on what settings and frame rate you consider playable. It should run 1080p at medium to low settings at, I'm gonna guess around 30fps average.
 
I would like to use Medium to High, maybe not ultra, but at least medium to high, so a GPU upgrade will most likely have to happen than.
 
There are some good deals on 660ti, 670gtx, and 7850's going on. Any of those would be a major step up.

What's your max budget for this upgrade?

I have a Core i7 960, yes
I have a 620watt Corsair Modular (I think its the HX620)
Case is a rosewill (I think), mid-tower meant for a mATX board, I know your asking due to size.

Budget is around $200, but if I need to get another case, Im sure I can think of something!
 
I'm also asking about the case to figure out whether or not it'll provide sufficient cooling for a new video card. So please find out what case you have exactly. That'll determine which two GPUs I'll be recommending to you.

When will you be upgrading the case?

If you need a new case, I would recommend the HD 7850 2GB for $135 to $160. If you did not need a new case, I would recommend the $185 HD 7870 2GB if buying from Newegg.com or the $200 GTX 660 2GB if buying from Amazon.com. Considering DICE's relationship with Nvidia, the $200 GTX 660 2GB might be your best bet.

Since you have a little time to wait until it comes out, I would suggest you do so and keep checking the classifieds. I just replaced my 6950 with a 7950 Boost that I picked up for $175 on the boards.
 
Why not wait until it actually comes out so you have some real reviews to go by instead of hoping what ever you gets does the job okay...
