HDCP is not an input, it's a type of copy protection. It can be found only on HDMI or DVI connections. This monitor has one DVI with HDCP and no HMDI. You can't use HDCP over VGA.Does this monitor have a HDCP port or just HDCP through the DVI OR VGA port's?

I have a Nov model, the only issue I notice is the screen is hot. It does not bother me, but I would like to know are the Dec screens "hot" too? Should I be worried?
I ran this monitor with the xfx 8800 , XP, and The eztune (1.0 or 1.1) that came with the monitor. NO PROBLEMS.
I now install vista, install the 100.59 Nvidia driver, then eztune 1.2 (does not work with vista). Then installed 1.4. Works with Vista bit all monitor adjustments in ez tune are dimmed out. EZtune 1.4 does not "see" the monitor. The monitor is installed as plyg and play and I am using 1900x1200 res...no problem except EzTune does not see ot. It says "no supported Gateway monitor found."

Gateway obviously designed this monitor for office use only, where nobody would ever see the crappy bleeding because of ambient light.
Day 5 ---
--No buzzing
--No backlight bleeding
Why is it that just about everybody seems to be complaining of backlight bleeding except me?
Now I admit that I am not an expert on detecting backlight bleeding on LCD monitors, as this is my first LCD .... but I don't see it. I am not quite sure exactly what it will look like, but as a Supreme Court justice once said about pornography - I'll know it when I see it.
I am starting to get used to how to deal with the vast amounts of real-estate this monitor opens up. For example, in Word, I can enlarge the document to 125%, which seems to be match up with a smaller monitor at 100%
I have been experimenting with the different theme presets, such as "User", "Web", "Movie", "Picture, but have really not made a judgment on which one I would prefer. Does anybody have any preferences on these settings?
I BOUGHT IT.
Circuit City + 10% off coupon. total: $601 w/ NJ taxes.
This 24" widescreen is GREAT. honestly. I'm extremely happy with my purchase!!!
Where did you happen to get the 10% coupon?
I just bought a Gateway FPD2485W 24'' LCD and I hooked it up to my Macbook Pro over DVI... my god, it looks hideous. I messed around with it for a half hour and something happened, and bam, it looked good. I unplugged it to mount it, which reset everything (yeah, what?)
Anybody have suggestions? Also, is it normal that when you turn it on the screen is all green and looks like the matrix, but with static and banding?
i went on Ebay and bought a 10% coupon for $1.50
you can use mine. I'm not sure if it will work, but try it. You HAVE TO BUY the unit online and pick it up at the store. You will pay $624 (online price) - 10% OFF and then tax.

My backlight bleeding started on the 10th day and got progressively worse day after day. Same with the buzzing although it never got to a point where it bothered me.

Gateway isn't too quick to ship out a replacement. I contacted them on 1/27, and they agreed to cross-ship a replacement. When I contacted them yesterday to inquire as to the status, I was told to wait another five days.
The backlight bleed is much worse now, but when the display is warmed up (~30 minutes or so) it isn't noticeable at all.
I dont see a option in the CC.com checkout to be able to pick it up, It only says I can have it shipped?
