Hey everyone! I came on here about 3 years ago and built a great PC that has lasted for forever. I think at the time I asked for a $500 dollar budget PC to run WoW back in the day. I think its about time though to build a new PC to be able to do what I wish to accomplish. I would try to see about just upgrading parts but from what I've read and heard, I'll prob need a new full system build. This new PC will be for PC Gaming/Twitch.tv.

I just wanna say I am a complete noob in the parts department. As for putting the tower together, that's not an issue. I put the last one together in 2 hours and I must say, it was alot of fun. I've been reading on PC specs for streamers and it seems alot are using i5's or i7's minimum. I will be running this stream with a 2 monitor setup, maybe 3 in the future but not right now.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
-- Alot of PC Gaming (Blizzard Games like D3, SC2 and others.) Streaming live to Twitch.tv while doing alot of multitasking with music/very light Photoshop etc. This would be my main new PC and I am looking to be able to stream to Twitch.tv in rich quality (not top notch, just nice) and be able for my games to not lag/play at max settings etc. Would also like the tower to be as quiet as possible, my current tower sounds like a train is coming and keeps coming, haha.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
-- $700-800 US Dollars with tax/ship included.

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
- USA, Near Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
-- "Everything" :) CPU, Motherboard, Graphics Card, Cooling, Hard-drive, Case etc.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
-- 2x Monitors, Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, Microphone, 720p Webcam, [Power Supply if possible: Raidmax RX-530SS/530W]

6) Will you be overclocking?
-- Unsure, if I need to, then yes.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
-- Main: 1920x1080 / Secondary: 1680x1050 / 19' and 16'?

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
-- ASAP

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
-- Unsure about this part. :(

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
-- Yes I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Get that PSU TODAY! That promo code expires today. That's a damn good price for a high quality PSU. The combination of that PSU, case, and HSF should provide a fairly low noise system.

Some people are telling me that i7's are pretty much mandatory for clear streaming. Trying to view all my options before I do a serious buy as I wanna get something that will last like my current PC and be good for streaming.

There is a grain of truth to that. The problem is that your budget won't allow for the Core i7 4770 AND a low noise system. You would have to increase your budget by another $105 to get both. Cramming in the 4770 would mean that you would have to get a lower quality PSU, no 3rd party HSF, a slower video card, and a noisier case.

Just a rough estimate, how much extra would it cost to build into an i7?

Would I be looking over $1k?

Just $115 more. Get this CPU instead of the i5.

$300 - Intel Core i7-4771 Haswell 3.5GHz ($20 off w/ promo code EMCWVVX28)

edit
Actually get this CPU instead. It's $10 cheaper at Amazon.

$290 - Intel Core i7-4770 Quad-Core

It's not worth the $10 for an extra 100Mhz base clock speed.

As SkillZ showed, it's well under $1000 to get the i7.

Hmmm not to bad. Is there any other cases around that price range that would be able to work? (Just wondering) I can't remember how much my case cost back in the day. Sorry, not trying to be picky. :)

Other then the parts listed above.. what else would I have to pick up to put the tower together? I've seen that cooler fan before the past week with King Kongor on twitch where he apply some sort of glue?..

If you want low noise, no. If you don't mind noise, then yes:
$60 - Corsair Carbide Series 200R ATX Case
$75 - Corsair Carbide Series 300R ATX Case

Though I would spring for that Fractal Design case since it's on sale for $85 with free shipping. Normal pricing is usually $100 plus shipping.

That's thermal paste. The HSF already comes with it. As long as you have a screw driver, you're basically set.

I would recommend going with an Nvidia card so you can stream using shadowplay. You only take about a 5% hit in the GPU instead of a huge hit in the CPU. Shadowplay is still in beta so you can't do everything you can with OBS yet, but it at least gives you the option to.

Well I will be using Xsplit unless it can't handle it. I use OBS currently due to low usage.

Have any suggestions while staying around the same price?
