1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
BF3 Max settings, D3, Movies

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
1k-1.5k Maybe 2k

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Ann Arbor Mi Microcenter is a bit of a drive but doable.
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
MOBO CPU+Cooler RAM GPU PSU DVD
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
HDD
6) Will you be overclocking?
Possibly in the future w/ water

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1920x1200 24in
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
1-2 Weeks or middle November.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
USB 3.0 SATA 6 Crossifre

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Will get Win7

I'm looking for best bang for the buck, suggestions to best combo of components and any possible significant upgrades to components.
Thx in advance.

It's gonna be Intel hands down. AMD is simply not a good option with your budget unless you're a really hardcore AMD fan whose love for AMD makes him/her want to spend more money for inferior performance.

So I recommend this Intel mobo:
$145 - MSI Z68A-GD55 Intel Z68 ATX Motherboard

PSU wise, go with the XFX

GPU wise, go with the HD 6950 from MSI or XFX

RAM wise, I recommend this:
$47 - G.Skill Ripjaws Series F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM

Case wise, up to you.

$145 - MSI Z68A-GD55 Intel Z68 ATX Motherboard
$47 - G.Skill Ripjaws Series F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$220(newegg) 180 (microcenter) - i5-2500k
$80 - LG Black Super Multi SATA WH12LS30
$200 - Crucial M4 128GB
$300 MSI R6950
~1K
Seems to be the build.

Couple questions how will the gd55 and the ram do if I decide to overclock.
Should I crossfire to be able to play bf3 at high settings @ 1920x1200?
Are there any sidegrades/upgrades to this list?

Changed some stuff around in my op. Thanks for the help danny
Hopefully going to order by the end of the week or I might wait to see what new combo deals might be had on the egg.
Depending on how BF3 performance goes.

Oh, ditch that XFX PSU: You can get this higher quality and modular PSU for less:
$150 - Antec High Current Pro HCP-850 850W Modular PSU

nice it even has an extra coupon 10% off w/ promo code blizzsave till the 25th

might ditch the h100 until i end up overclocking to help bring the price down

thanks again

I'm Looking for the same thing just on a slghtly lower budget. Found this online at a sketchy site so I don't know how accurate it is

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
RAM: 4GB
Graphics card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950.
Graphics card memory: 1 GB
Sound card: DirectX compatibl sound card
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

Thats supposedly recommended settings as far as max setting I read somewhere thhat they said there is no machine presently capable of running the game at max settings.

Looking to pull the trigger on this today/tomorrow.
I still have concerns about graphics. Might have to crossfire/sli to run 1200p on ultra.

Current updated build w/ combos. Cut the H100 for now.
MSI Z68A-GD55 (B3) + i5-2500k $369.98
Crucial M4 128GB $201.99
Gskill sniper 4GB $46.99

XFX HD-695X-CNDC $279.99
ASUS DRW $19.99
Corsair 800D $279.99
~$1400 shipped.

Took the dual fan version in consideration and updated build list.

As for the power supplies seems it comes down to a personal preference?

As of now right now the antec hcp-850 is 15 dollars more @ 164.99 than previously mentioned 150

Not necessarily: It comes down to price to performance as well. In this case, IIRC, the HCP is better than the AX-850. So totally worth going for IMO.

Chiming in about my build. Everything worked out of the box without a hitch. After getting my BFBC3 fix, I'm now currently working trying to get to 4.5ghz stable OC. In retrospect I shouldve got a board with PCIE 3.0 for future proofing.

Thanks again to everyone who helped out and suggested things.

Not a big issue: It would have been another 3 to 4 years before PCI-E 3.0 would be needed

What Danny said, even AMD's new 7xxx line of GPUs coming out next year won't be using PCIE 3.0. By the time it is fully utilized, you'll probably want to upgrade your processor, at which point you'll probably need a new MoBo anyways.
