Hello. It is that time again. I am going to build a new PC in the next week or two. I spend a lot of time gaming. I also spend quite a bit of time programming. I may need to run virtual machines for various environments as well and it is my understanding that there are a few hardware features that can make VMs run much faster. It would also be nice if the machine doesn't sound like an airplane while it is turned on.
I already have a few parts that I will be using:
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 500R
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
PSU: SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W
Monitor: XL2370 23" 1920x1080
I also have a copy of Win 7 Pro x64. I would like to go with a SSD, and I already have a couple spare HDD. These are starting to fill up though, so if there is a good enough deal I would be willing to grab another one.
I live in Michigan, however, everything should be bought online. I prefer it this way and there aren't any decent B&Ms around. I probably won't be overclocking initially. I will most likely be purchasing a second monitor, but not right away.
The parts I will need and what I am currently looking at:
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H - $128 shipped
CPU: ??
HSF: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 - $20
GPU: GIGABYTE GV-N670OC-2GD GeForce GTX 670 - $400 but out of stock
SSD: ?? - I've been waiting for a decent sale
DVD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151244 - $20
HDD (optional): again, waiting for a good deal
Mouse (optional): ??
Total so far: $568
I would like to try to stay under $1,000 total.
Let me know what you guys thinks.
