gaming pc opinion

i dont want to turn this into an intel vs amd so please lets stick to the point...

what are your opinions on the following

fx 4170
asus 970 mobo
evga gtx 560
8 gigs of memory
crucial m4 ssd

its all with pc gaming in mind ...

Looks like a good Mid-range gaming PC. Actually its close to the specs for the one I have for a friends build, though I would throw in at least a 1TB HDD if you don't already have one.

Depends on what games you play and at what resolution. I guess you should be fine for 1080p gaming with average iq. Longterm, there are much better options for a little more cash.

@zarin.. the only thing needed to purchase is cpu, memory and mobo

all other have been taken care of, the hdd is there already too

and yes, gaming is on an asus 23inch led monitor 1080p full hd so res is 1920x1080

i looked at an i5 2400 + asus h61 mobo too ..total is like $30 more or $40 more

You'll get better gaming performance from an Intel i3 or an AMD 960T. Frankly, I'd go with the 960T

If you can get that CPU for less than $90 to $100, then it's a good buy. Otherwise, I'd go for the $128 Core i3 2120. Even in games that scale well with multiple cores, the Core i3 2120 is gonna trump either the FX or Phenom II or at least perform just as well.

Though if you can spend the extra cash for the Core i5 2400, I'd recommend doing so.

This, plus what kind of budget are you looking at here?

Its worth it to upgrade that 560 to the Ti version and even more so if you can swing the Ti 448 Core version.
