1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Play BF3 at around max settings, play other games and web browsing
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$1500, $200 more or $200 less (In Argentina). No taxes or shipping.
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Argentina.
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, RAM, CASE, MOBO, GRAPHICS CARD, HARD DRIVE, PSU, COOLING
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
None
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yup, @4.5 GHz, more or less
7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1680x1050, 22´´, but I'm gonna change it for a 32´´ 1080p in a couple of months.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
ASAP
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
I would want SLI support, because I plan to put another card in the future. Nothing in particular besides that.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, Win 7 Ultimate 64 bits

Here is what I was thinking to buy:

CPU: Intel Core I5-2500k w/ COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus
GFx: GTX 570 1280mb gddr5
PSU: a good 750w one
RAM: 2 good 4gb ddr3
Motherboard: Asus P8p67-m Pro
HDD: Western Digital 500 Gb Cache 32mb Black Edition

Questions:

1) What should I change and why?
2) What ram, psu and case should I buy?
3) Im planning to do SLI in the future, that motherboard supports it but its not recommendable because the cards will end up too close together, but other motherboards go so expensive... what motherboard should I buy then? It has to be around the same price, it has to have atx form factor, it has to have a good overclocking feature, and it has to support SLI with good space between the pci-e ports. If theres no motherboard like that, i will go with the one that I mentioned and I wont go SLI...

I think that's it... Thanks for reading.

The Asus P8P67-M Pro is a microATX motherboard.

Where are you buying parts from? How much do the above parts, save for the motherboard, cost?

I know it is m-ATX, I will buy everything at a store (or stores) in my country ( I didn't visit any store yet, but I have one in mind). As for the price... no idea, but I think everything costs a bit more than $1500.

You shouldn't go the m-atx route since it makes it seem that you want to go with a small form factor case or already have one in mind. Let alone the fact that running sli or crossfire. You would have to make sure that you have fantastic airflow in that tiny box to keep everything happy. Since it doesn't seem like you'll be watercooling and you will be overclocking.

Prelim build Id say
CPU: i5-2500k $225
Cooler: CM 212+ $25
RAM: GSKILL Ripjaws $44
GPU: MSI 570GTX $370

PSU: Possible options hopefully someone can throw some in there
High Current Pro HCP-850 $180
Corsair HX850 $165.99

~$844 no shipping, mobo, case or hard drive.

The case/mobo depends on what size case you want to end up getting or and size constraints you have to get a case, and hard drives I'm not as good.
Hopefully danny will chime in on this at some point hes got quite the case list.

Oh and perhaps some thermal paste?
Tuniq TX-4 $12

MSI and Asus makes some decent ATX motherboards for the 1155 chipset. If you don't care about integrated graphics on the Intel chip plus SSD caching, pick up an older P67 motherboard for like $120-$150, it's probably your best choice.

For ram, G.Skill and Corsair are the top choices right now for DDR3-1600. With the Sandy Bridge CPU it's pointless to go over 1600, you can pick up a 2x4GB kit of either for like $35-$45, depending on if you can catch a sale. I know Newegg had a 2x4GB G.Skill set yesterday for $30, but that sold out in like an hour, so you gotta keep your eyes open.

For PSU, if you want a GOOD 750W PSU, the only two companies I'd personally recommend are Corsair and Seasonic. Both are significantly more expensive than your Rosewill, CM, Antec, etc PSUs, but they both exclusively use single +12V rails and are extremely reliable. Plus, the Seasonic X750 is rated for 50 C instead of the unrealistic 40 C most other manufacturers use. Both also offer great warranties (5yr+) and excellent customer service.

You'll have to specify more of what you specifically are looking for in order for us to recommend a case. How much space do you have to fit it? Are you looking to watercool in the future? How many external slots (Fan controllers DVD, BD, etc) and internal (3.5 and 2.5) slots? Do you want something colorful with glowing LEDs, or something refined with brushed black metal finish? Are you concerned about sound, or cooling?

I'm in a similar situation but since there has already been some PS discussion on his build I'll just piggyback on:

Does this build really need a 750W supply? I'll be making something similar with a similar video card. Maybe 1 SSD and 1 regular HD.

Seems 650W is a cost breakpoint so I was just wondering if that would be enough.

For 1 SSD, 1 HDD, 1 GPU, and 1 CPU, if you don't plan on OCing, and you don't have crazy peripherals (LEDs, a million fans, tons of CD/DVD drives, etc), a 600W, and maybe even a 500W would do you fine. Typically I like having some leeway, in case I decide to upgrade in the future, and also so the PSU fan doesn't have to be running at max load all the time (if you load a 500W psu to 400W, chances are the fan's gonna be on 100%, but if you load a 1000W psu to 400W, the Fan might be at say 50%).

However you go, just make sure you get a reliable brand. Wattage isn't everything. That POS Rosewill 1000W PSU has been burning out peoples parts for a long time.

Thanks for the replies.

@Tsuyoi I want a mid tower case, any would fit in my space. I don't plan to watercool. I would need just 2 slots for dvd and bd ( I will need bd in the future probably) and 2 3.5 internal slots. I don't care about leds, visual design or sound... As for the cooling, if its enough for the setup I mentioned (+ another gtx 570), its fine. Thanks for all the advice, I will keep them in mind.

@Fizpez I think 750W is necessary if I want to add another gtx 570.

If you plan on having two 570s in SLI, you'll probably want a slightly larger mid tower case. The Antec P183 gen 3 and the Fractal Design Arc Midi should both fit your parts and cool them fine. Other good brands are Corsair and Lian-Li. Take a look around Newegg n see what you like in terms of look/specs, and maybe read up on some reviews of those.

Ok so I think I know where Im gonna buy the stuff, and I found there these memories, what do you say= its 1333mhz, not 1600, could it be much difference?

As for the motherboard, what do you think of this one?

Not much of a difference at all. That RAM should be fine.

I'm a little hesistant in recommending that mobo considering the issues that the higher-end P8P67 Pro had.

Pick up an Asus P8Z68-V vanilla, it's what we usually recommend for your average higher end build that has all the ports/capabilities most ppl would need.
