Hello, everyone. I'm looking at trying to build a new PC, as I've been running into the point where I cannot run newer games at moderate to high settings on my current machine. This build is mostly for current high-end games, along with some new ones coming out next year, particularly Star Citizen.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

I will be using the PC for gaming regularly.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

My budget is $1300 after tax and shipping.

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.

I live in Rockford, IL in the United States. There's not much in the way of local electronics shops that I'm aware of, however, other than a Best Buy.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

I will need the following: A case, PSU, Motherboard, CPU, Video Card, RAM, a SSD for OS and possibly a few games, a HD for storage, and CPU cooling.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

I do not plan to reuse any parts from my current PC.

6) Will you be overclocking?

I would like to try overclocking, but have not done it before, so any helpful guides or warnings would be helpful.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?

My monitor's max resolution is 1920x1080, and it is 23". I would be looking to upgrade the monitor down the road, possibly to a higher resolution, but having the PC built is my first priority.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

I am looking to buy it as soon as possible.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.

I would like the option down the road to upgrade to using two Video cards, so having SLI/Crossfire support would be a plus. I am not that familiar with the other features listed, however, so anything that could help with performance would be a plus as well.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

I do not have a reusable license, but I will be purchasing a new 64-bit license (unsure on Windows 8 vs 7) and the cost for that can be included in the $1300.

Are you a student? From what I know, you can get a student discount for OS (windows 8). Do you have any preferences on NVIDIA/AMD cards?

Unfortunately, I'm not a student anymore, and as for card preference, I don't really have one, though I've been using AMD cards for a while.

Sorry for the late reply.

Would something like this work? I cut down on the SSD size to shave a bit off the price.

The RAM is out of stock and I doubt it'll be back in stock at that sales price. As for the SSD, go for the Samsung 840 Evo 120GB for the better performance and quality. It's also $5 less over at Amazon.com:
$90 - Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD

As for the case, from my time working with that case, I really don't recommend it. Yes it is a big case but the quality of case is so damn cheap. Also, the stupid fan control cables and front panel cables are all over the goddamn place. I recommend any of the other cases I've listed earlier over the Rosewill Thor V2 any day of the week.

As for the power supply, it's a good PSU but not cheap enough IMO since the significantly higher quality and newer Seasonic SSR-650M 650W PSU costs only $20 more:
$100 - Seasonic G Series SSR-650RM 650W Modular PSU

So I don't recommend that Seasonic 620W unless it was $75 shipped.

I hadn't noticed the out of stock on pcpartpicker, and I'll take a look at one of the cases you listed instead.
