I've been looking on tigerdirect.ca and vibecomputers.com for good motherboards for gaming.

Can any one suggest a certain one? (If possible link me on tigerdirect.ca or vibe)
It needs:
-Hyperthreading support
-DDR2 Support duel channel support (6400 800mhz support would be nice)
-PCI express (supporting crossfire would be a bonus but not necessary)
-Intel socket LGA 775
-Mini-atx or atx form factor? Will it affect gaming at all? My current case is a miniatx.
-10/100mbps
-Support for future processors (Intel D/duo etc)
-Support for 64bit (for future proof)
-Good Performance in games is the huge thing I want

I am looking anywhere in the 120 - 300 dollar price range. No newegg please, as they dont ship to canada. =(

Thanks

well i would recomend you the asus P5W-DH it's good at OC great gaming performance and it;s very digital media friendly. it has an awesome remote. it;s compatible with Conroe. i;m still waiting for this board to come in.

also if you see a board you like at newegg. search for it on shopping.yahoo.ca and most likely the hits you get, those companies will ship to canada.

there are a lot of new motherboards out because of the release of conroe. this aritcle offers many review of the current motherboards http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2797&p=1

good luck

taht wouldn;t be a bad choice very similar to the P5W. but i dont know if it support conroe.

It supports Pentium 4/ Celeron CPU/Pentuim Processor Extreme Edition/ Pentium D Processors, sadly, no duo and its about 259 canadian.

Is it a good price for technology WITHOUT support for duo technology? FOr the time being I am just going to be putting in my P4 3.6ghz HT but if its open for upgrades it would be rad. I would rather buy a motherboard that will stick around for a little while and progress with the next technology.

This is the P5W DH model he mentioned. Link It matches all the criteria you mentioed above.

if i were you i would still go with the P5W DH just to future proof. i can't find this board on any candian sit.es

Do you want SLI also? i see x16, and you want gaming performance, but you didnt say if you wanted a SLI board =]

Sorry for being misleading. Yes my current case is miniatx formfactor, but honestly, with a good board Id be willing on buying a new case.

What do you guys think about this one:

ASUS P5WD2-E Premium Socket T

No reason to even think about this board with no Core 2 support.

Thats true. Probably by the end of the year I'll be aching for a duel core duo so I wont shell out almost 300 for this without that support.

There MUST be a lower cost board out there with everything I want. Oh and I am a ATI kind of guy. Not sure about the future, but I like ATI more at the current time. Would it be ok if the board were SLI ready, but used a x800 pro for the time being?

Hmmmm... anyone else got ideas? I like that asus one and i might go with it if you guys cant come up one with the things i want (see first post).

Thanks.

I looked around Tigerdirect.ca and vibecomputers.com and the only board I see there that will support Core 2 is the Intel 975XBX. The only problem is you have to make sure you get a Rev. 304 board or newer to support Core 2 (unless you want to do some modding). I'd wait a little longer to see what else Canadian retailers get in before buying. That board is overpriced.
