Hey guys. I'm in the market for a good headset. Ive pretty much always used regular portable cd player headphones. They work but the sound is so-so.

Heres what I game on: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2758
Its also in my sig. Will the sound card in there be ok for decent headphones?

Anyway heres what Im looking at so far:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826249003

they look good to me. The little bit older model has very good ratings so I assume these are just as good. Also should I go USB or not?

Any other recommendations? Thanks

are you looking for just headphones or something that has a microphone as well?

do you plan to use it only for gaming, or music/movies as well?

finally, what is the price range you can work with?

i'd stay away from usb personally, but i'll leave the real answers to the serious audiophiles that lurk here. i just know they are gonna ask the same questions

Im looking for something with a mic as well. I plan to use it for gaming only. Price range is up to $80.

I just notice the link. that your on a laptop. Year so your only option is a normal set of head sets and not 5.1 headsets. Some would say the Sennishers, Grados, the Ice Mats, there was some others but I dont remember.

This should work, Its on sell for 84 dollars SENNHEISER HD 280 Circumaural PROFESSIONAL Headphone http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826106328

I had some of these before I got my current ones eDimensional Audio FX 3.5mm/ USB Connector Circumaural Force Feedback Gaming Headset, they have a mic http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836504001. The usb is for the amp and the led lights on the headsets.

These should be like the ones you was looking at , but only there not USB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826249002

Devolutionist he cant use either of those headsets, hes on a laptop. So unless his laptop has a Audigy2zs PCIMA he out of luck for those.

Now if he has Digital spfid on his laptop, I doubt he does he could grab a Trittion X360 Headsets there digital and work with many things. yes PCs also if you have Digital or analog. I hear alot of good things about them. But other then that. He only has choice for normal headsets.
