Hello guys. I am about to build my new PC mainly for gaming and developing and before that I would like your opinion about the parts I selected.

CASE: Corsair 400r
CPU: i5 4570
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: ASUS H87-PLUS
RAM: Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9W Vengeance Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB)
SSD: Samsung MZ-7TE120BW SSD 840 EVO 120 GB
HDD: Western Digital 1TB internal Hard Drive - Caviar Blue
PSU: Seasonic M12II-620 Semi-Module620W
Graphics card: AMD 280x toxic

I' m a bit worried about the processor though. I know that i5 does really what i want for now and for the purposes of my PC, it doesn't have any significant differences with the i7. But what about after 3-4 years? do you thing that I will have a bottleneck in the processor?
Also, what do you thing about the graphics card? I know it consumes a lot of power but I thing is one of the best choices for it's price.

Please answer the stickied "ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS FIRST!" so that we can help you better. Also, can you expand on what you mean by "developing"?

Off the bat, the RAM and PSU aren't exactly good choices for the money. As for the video card, assuming that you're in the U.S, the 280X isn't a good price unless you're getting it for $320 MAX. Anymore than that and you're getting ripped off.

Sorry, didn't noticed the 'ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS'.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming and application - Website developing (IDE's, frameworks, SQL etc)

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
about 1000-1100 euros.

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Europe - Cyprus particularly.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
All parts that are in the above list

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Not reusing anything

6) Will you be overclocking?
Not sure about that.

7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
I plan to buy a 24" monitor with 1900x1080 resolution (the monitor is excluded from the budget)

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Immediately

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
No crossfire, SLI.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
I don't have an operating system yet. probably windows 8.

Well, I found the card for 300 euro (~400$). I compared with other GPU's that are about the same price and I thing this is the best deal. What would you suggest me? What do you consider a good choice for PSU and RAM?

Thanks.

Is the cost of OS part of that 1100 euro budget?
What online computer hardware store(s) will you be buying from?

No, the OS is not in the budget. Just the parts I referenced in my first post. I am buying from amazon.co.uk and amazon.it (some parts are cheaper in amazon.it like the amd 280x toxic).

You should budget for a second monitor: you will find it increases your productivity considerably. I'm rather wary about mixing development stuff and games on the same PC. Consider buying two PCs and using a KVM. Your development PC doesn't need to be particularly great stuff: an i3, plenty of memory, 300W or less PSU, and a decent-sized HDD should cover it. Plus it will make testing easier.

Your idea seems good. I already plan to budget for a second monitor. I know how convenient could be. Well, I don't prefer to buy two PCs. It would be much more expensive I thing. But that should be the right thing to do. I agree with you.

Ok, looking at the pricing on Amazon.it:

- Go for the Seasonic G-550 as it's of significantly higher quality than the Seasonic M12II 620W you chose. Yes it's still more than enough power:
http://www.amazon.it/Seasonic-SSR-5...d=1387669871&sr=8-2&keywords=Seasonic+SSR-550

- As for the video card, at 300 euros, that card you found does appear to be a decent deal. However it's was OOS when I checked.

- In regards to the RAM, if you're actually serious about development and such, you should be looking at single sticks of 8GB of RAM as that will allow you to upgrade to 32GB of RAM later on without having to replace any stick of RAM. Go for this RAM:
http://www.amazon.it/Corsair-CMX8GX...d=1387670177&sr=8-1&keywords=CMX8GX3M1A1333C9

Though I recommend going for 16GB of RAM if you can afford it:
http://www.amazon.it/Ballistix-Spor...&qid=1387670244&sr=8-2&keywords=16GB+DDR3+RAM

- For the CPU, if you're going to be doing a lot of multi-threaded programming, then yes grab the Core i7 4770 if you can. If you're not doing a lot of multi-threaded programming, the Core i5 4570 will be enough.

Great!

Yes, I know that is currently OOS but I don't mind waiting for a while. What is your general opinion about the card? Would you suggest it to anyone?

Well, that's what I thought initially. To get a single stick. I changed my mind after understanding that dual channel works better and I thought that when time comes that I will need an upgrade, I will replace the sticks. But yes, that would be a waste of money.

Yes I know that the i7 performs much better when multi-threading but I will not use it very often. So probably I am going for the i5

thanks a lot for your help.
