That link does not work. (And do not circumvent the block because that link, as you originally intended to do, leads to a vendor that has had its name blocked from the [H].)

In any case, that $179 is after a rebate. And I never include rebates as part of my final cost because rebates are never guaranteed (this means that you may or may not receive the rebate). And the regular price for that card is actually $239 CAD, not $179 or even $199. The $179 advertised cost after rebate actually ends tonight - and the rebate is only $20. This means that you'd actually pay $199 CAD upfront - but only if you buy before midnight tonight. Afterwards, the price will revert back to its regular price of $239. At that price the HD 7870 is not so good of a deal.

That is correct, the regular price is $239 CAD, but until midnight tonight I can get it for $199 (+20 MIR)... So is this worth it to get since it also includes free express shipping and bonus game bundle?
 
And the GPU in question is...? (The model number of said XFX Core Edition card would also help.)

I can't see those pics for some reason... I see that you tried to link to some now that I have quoted your post but - anyway, weird.

As long as your existing case is spacious enough to accommodate whatever mobo (and maybe after-market CPU cooler) you might get and it has enough airflow, (and it looks like it meets those requirements to me) sure it is ok to reuse it. It might not have USB 3.0 front ports and it might not have as good cable management and stuff like that but why pay extra if you have a perfectly serviceable case? You just need to weigh the pros and cons of reusing it is all.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

The NZXT Source 210 Elite is definitely a better case than that Lexa due to the significantly better cable management, a tad more interior space, and front panel USB 3.0 port. Up to you if you can deal with the cable management and crampness of that Lexa case.

Danny, two questions:

1. I am wondering if purchasing a SSD is a good idea as primary to install windows and maybe some games on, and that way I can use my WD HD as secondary... If so, what would you recommend?

2. What are your thoughts on waiting 7 more days to see if anything special comes out from black friday? From past experiences is it worth the wait?

If you can afford one, it's definitely a good idea. I recommend the Crucial M4 or Samsung 830 128GB SSDs.

From past experiences, nothing really worth waiting for unless your hardware standards are low. But there's always a chance.

Ended up going with both your recommendations on the case and ssd. How does the final build look? Will it be easy for me as a first time, putting it all together? Or should I pay the extra $50 for them to do it for me :(

There's a ton of build guides listed in the General Hardware FAQ on how to build a PC. Read those thoroughly and take your time building the PC.

With that said, $50 is tempting.

But I think you should be able to get it together without too much trouble.

Does the 7950 have a PCI-E x16 connection? It does? Oh yeah, you'll be able to use it.

And don't ask whether or not the 7950 will fit in the case. Danny Bui recommended the Source 210 Elite for a reason (or, actually, a few)....
