What case did you order?

Ditch the RAM: it's rated at 1.65V when the max recommended RAM voltage for Intel CPUs is 1.5V. Go for this RAM instead:
$34 - Corsair CMV8GX3M2A1333C9 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM

The video card is very overpriced. I recommend this cheaper MSI card instead:

CPU wise, that CPU is out of date now: Go for the faster and cheaper Core i5 3470 instead:

I really appreciate all the help. This has made my buying experience much more stress-free. You guys are great. One last question, Danny....do you agree that the Seagate drive suggested by Bailey is a better deal than the Samsung one you originally suggested to me? To me, the specs look better than the Samsung drive, but, as you've taught me before, the specs aren't always a direct indication of performance...at least from my layman's standpoint.

Flip a coin. Sadly that Samsung drive I recommended is now a rebranded Seagate. So they will perform basically the same.
 
The Hitachi is certainly faster and longer warrantied (I think) than the Seagate. But that Hitachi appears to be far less reliable than the Seagate.
 
Where have you seen the stats on the claimed reliability of the Hitachi?
 
Wow...yeah. After reading several reviews on many different sites, I think I'll stay away from the Hitachi. I was going to go with it at first because my six-year-old laptop has a Hitachi HD that has really been a trooper...but this hard drive has quite the bad reputation. It seems to have a bit of a defective nature, apparently. :( If there's not a better alternative, it looks like I'll be going with the Seagate.
 
All harddrives have some sort of failure rate, there is no proof thatbthe failures rate is higher with the Hitachi drive, only that more people probably buy it since its cheaper and faster.

Actually there sorta is:

Note the 3.77% return rate for Hitachi VS everyone else. Granted it's not specifically about the Hitachi drive in question but still shows something is up with Hitachi in general.
 
Yeah; which is weird because from personal experience I've had to return more Seagate drives (4) than I have Hitachi (0) drives or even Samsung (0) drives in recent years. Due to this, I will never recommend Seagate drives.
