1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? Case, Mobo, Ram, PS, Keyboard, Monitor, CPU, etc. Pretty much all the main components. I do have a hd tv I might be able to use, but idk if I can buy a pc in cable for it?

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing?

Mouse, TV maybe?

6) Will you be overclocking? No
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it? IDK
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Mid July, Early August
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? SLI maybe
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit? I have a copy of Windows 7 64 Bit, idk if I can reuse it?

I am not too key on building my own so seeing if a friend can do it, cause I am too shaky with my hands and with expensive parts is a no go.
 
Are you near a microcenter? I know they have a few in Atlanta, not sure if any others are in GA.

What TV do you have? Probably just needs an hdmi cable.

Is that copy of windows 7 OEM or retail?

ATL is 4 hours so it's kinda out of the way.

The windows 7 is retail

And...about the TV it's a Toshiba has the hdmi slots, and pc in, and the model # I am not finding anything online.
 
Well after talking to a friend about it he is saying newer video cards use hdmi cables, which the tv has..
 
Again, we still need the model number of that Toshiba to determine if it's 720P or 1080P. The Video card requirements for either of those two resolutions are fairly different.

As for your Windows 7 copy, if it's an OEM copy (it came with a prebuilt PC or you paid less than $140 for it), you technically won't be able to use it. If it's a retail copy, then yes you can reuse it. So which one do you have?
 
A quick Google search on the TV's model number indicates that it has a 720p (1366x768) resolution. Were you planning on upgrading to a 1080p monitor or HDTV within the next 12 months?

Well was hoping to use this tv as my monitor and purchase a 32 inch tv for the bedroom.
 
I asked because you won't need a high(er) end card like the GTX 570/670 or or HD 6950/7950 for your resolution. On that same note, you won't need SLI or CrossFire, either.

Please reanswer question 9: Aside from SLI/CFX support, are there any motherboard features that you need?

And also is 8gb of ram enough to be running GW2? I just want something that will blow GW2 out of the water of course within my budget. :)
 
8GB should be enough for any game really, I don't see any game needing more than that, unless you are running multiple instances of one game on one machine like EVE. Maybe streaming would have high ram requirements as well, I don't know. But if all you want to do is play one game at one time while having a voice program up in Windows 7, 8GB should be plenty.

Not bad but just a low resolution which means that you don't need that much of a high-performance machine for it. With that said, if you want greater detail or a larger view, then yes that TV isn't ideal.

As obi-kun explained, 8GB of RAM is more than enough for gaming unless you're running multiple MMMORPG clients at the same time.
