What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming Mostly World of Warcraft, Graphic Communications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$1100 before taxes and shipping
3) Where do you live?
Wisconsin 54454 zip code I do have free amazon prime for being a student if amazon has the cheaper price
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Case, Mobo, CPU, Ram, HDD, PSU, Video Card,
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
I can reuse my PSU if needed CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W, DVDdrive, maybe one of my sata drives
6) Will you be overclocking?
no
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
26” @1600x900
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
ASAP
9) What features do you need in a motherboard?
RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
no Special Features needed
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
No

These are the parts I was thinking about:
Case: COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Blue $160
Mobo: ASUS M4A79XTD $114
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz $166
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) $92
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM $88
Video Card: EVGA 01G-P3-1373-AR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Superclocked EE 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 $250
PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W $110 only if the 550w I have isn’t enough
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home $100
Subtotal: $1080

- That 550W PSU will be enough.

- Hmm since you don't have any specific motherboard features requirements, I recommend this CPU + mobo combo instead:
$273 - AMD Phenom II X6 1055T + MSI 870A-G54 AMD 870 AMD Motherboard Combo

$7 less than your planned setup but now you get an extra two cores. The Phenom II 1055T is only a tad slower than the 965 in gaming but vastly outperforms the 965 in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign applications.

And then there's the motherboard: You still have Crossfire capability but now you have SATA 6Gb/s support and USB 3.0. So not bad for $7 less.

- The problem with that $250 GTX 460 1GB is that it's $250, only $10 cheaper than the faster HD 5850. Granted no lifetime warranty but that $250 price is a bit too high IMO. So I recommend either getting the Gigabyte GTX 460 that lt_shiro recommended or the Gigabyte HD 5850 1GB I recommended if you want the best price to performance ratio.

- Definitely go for the $30 Windows 7 Pro since you're a student.

Thanks for the input

it's showing win7 as $65 maybe because I ordered my win7 for my laptop back when it was released through them for $30?

Meh, even at $65, it's still a good deal.

Oh and ditch that WD 1TB Black drive: The Samsung F3 1TB is 25% faster than that WD 1TB Black drive and is $13 cheaper:
$75 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

EDIT: You can save about $31 by going with this case + RAM combo:
$221 - COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Blue + G.SKILL F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM 4GB DDR3 1600 RAM

EDIT: Looks like we changed every part in your original build list besides the case :)
