Gagabyte 965DS3 rev3.3 (under testing for 45nm core 2 extreme)

Do not see it, not sure if it is my eyes or your link or Gigabyte is toying with you and removed it.

which would not susprise me too much as they say my board that runs a 475 FSB 18 hours a day cannot run a 333 FSB processor.

I have been checking for about a month now hoping for info on the new 45nm cpu. If you check the link, you should see a chart and the first cpu listed at the top of the list is the new QX9640.

GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 3.3)
Fx = Since BIOS Version OK = Test OK! N/A = Not support "-" = Under Testing

Intel QX9650(C0,Core™ 2 Extreme,45nm,3GHz,12 MB) 1333 -

the "-" = Under Testing is what I perceived as, Gigabyte is testing the rev 3.3 with the QX9650 to see if it's compatible.

If you check rev 1.0 or 1.3 it says N/A, so that would mean its not compatible. But if you have v3.3 it looks as if it might work. We will have to wait a little longer to be sure.

Edit: I take that back. I just checked again, and the N/A I saw on rev 1.0 and 1.3 was for the QX6850 not the QX9640. So the QX9640 is under testing for rev 1.0 and 1.3 also.

I probably should have posted this thread in the Intel motherboard section.

What browser are you using and what version ?

Jeez the weirdest thing, using IE7 looking on the screen that line IS NOT THERE !!!

But if I highlight and paste it here it shows up !!!!!!!!![/CENTER]

what the hell is wrong with my browser ?

I just love computers and the internet.

--------------------------------------- I dont know what browser you are using or what its settings are but that line is marked "invisible" for those boards.

<td align="center" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">Intel</td><td bgcolor="#F6F6F6">&nbsp;QX9650(C0,Core&#8482; 2 Extreme,45nm,3GHz,12 MB)</td><td align="center" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">1333</td><td align="center" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">-</td></tr>
<script language="javascript">if (navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf("netscape") == -1){div_0.style.display = "none";}else{document.getElementById("div_0").style.visibility = "hidden";}</script>

we are not susposed to see it

Now looking at my DQ6 ver 1.0

If the QX6850 is N/A there is no way the bastids are going to give me a peryn bios .

Somthing odd with your browser, you are seeing things you should not.

But I do not think that means they are testing, in fact I am pretty sure it means the opposite unless/until that line is marked visible.

I see what you mean. I have been using Firefox, but I read your post and checked with IE and your right, I does not show up in IE.

In Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9,

In IE 7,

I have java script disabled in Firefox, so maybe thats why it is showing up.

Being it is supposed to be invisible, I guess I jumped the gun with this post.

I'll start checking Gigabytes site with java script on for now on. ;)

If the QX6850 is N/A there is no way the bastids are going to give me a peryn bios .

If you see a N/A for your motherboard for the Q6850? Then you have a early revision. In that case probably no support for peryn.

Gigabytes later 965 board revisions have official support for the 1333 FSB. For these boards I think there is a possibility of a bios update for peryn support.

I intend on 'testing' the Q9450 on my Rev 1 when it comes out.

Thats what I want to get for my Rev 1 board too in Q1-08.

I think its just a matter of official support vs. non-official support.

There's no reason it shouldn't work in nearly any 965 mobo, now granted in some boards there just might not be a lot of headroom for overclocking past 333FSB.

My rev 3.3 DS3 works wonderfully with the 333fsb E6750, once I flashed to the F12 bios...
