G84 in Q1 2007

And that's one reason I want to get eVGA 7900GSs. Step-up, baby!

That's great news - $199-$249

Now that is the price range I want to hear! I'll have to see how they compare to my current video card before I consider though.

i still want an 8800gts for $300

By the time G84 is out, you'll probably get the GTS @ $300, because by then, ATI already launched R600 and the prices for current 8800 GTX/GTS, will go down.
NVIDIA will also (IMHO) launch the improved G80, to compete with R600, which will take the $650 spot. My guess is that the GTS will settle @ $300-$375 and the GTX @ $450-$550.

exactly
or maybe ill wait, i could earn more money

i have $530 right now but my cpu will limit my performance.

Other than a high buy-in for DX10 Parts, this is one hell of a great time for buying a video card.

Looks like the 8600/8300-series might be even cheaper:

* 8600 Ultra: 64 SP, core 500 MHz, memory 1400 MHz, 512 MB, 256-bit, $179
* 8600 GT: 48 SP, core 350 MHz, memory 1200 MHz, 256 MB, 128-bit, $149
* 8300 GT: 32 SP, core 500 MHz, memory 1200 MHz, 256 MB, 128-bit, $99
* 8300 GS: 24 SP, core 500 MHz, memory 1000 MHz, 256 MB, 128-bit, $79

The whole range looks like this:

Sweet!!! I wonder how the the 8600 Ultra will compare to my 7900GS. Hmmm... I hope they show up before my eVGA Step Up runs out. I've got 'til March 15th... LOL

bastard! i'm also running on 7900gs, but my step-up runs out next month :mad: that's ok, tho. 179 for 8600ultra isn't a lot, assuming the card is worth its price.

I have a 7900GS too! 8600 Ultra looks like the sweet spot for o'cing and mid-range. I can't wait! Step-up FTW! :D
