G51VX Heating issues

Hey all, I got this laptop through a trade on craigslist, the model is g51vx - rx05. After playing tf2/css and a bit of borderlands, i received AWFUL fps on borderlands even at 800x600, and then it shut off after 1 hour and a half of gaming, overheating i believe, and wouldnt turn on for 20 minutes. The idle temps now after restarting and being on it for 20 minutes, are

GPU 95
Core1 55
Core 2 55

now temps are 114 gaming

check the manufacturing date. if made before 10-22-10, there's a manufacturing defect. I just took my g51vx back for same reason.

Also, clean the laptop out if you haven't already.

There's posts on notebookreview.com about this series of laptops. Some people modded theres to get better airflow some returned for the updated models.
