G-Sync Review

the good news is that if you onw a good display that will receive gsync in the future you can try to source the new pcb and replace it, keeping the panel and power board.
 
I read through the article pretty quickly because I'm short on time but did I understand correctly that the benefits for people playing at higher frame rates (60FPS+) are marginal?

It's the author's opinion that people already on high refresh rates won't see as much improvement as those on low refresh rates, but that's sort of an obvious conclusion.

There's still plenty of benefit to be derived on 120Hz+ displays, it just won't be life-changing like it will for those on 60Hz displays.
 
nice review BUT author didn't mention input lag in 60Hz + V-Sync and if G-Sync alter it in any way

also no mention of any strobed mode :(

To maximize the impact of G-Sync NVIDIA’s reviewer’s guide recommends testing v-sync on/off at 60Hz but G-Sync at 144Hz.

Yeah that is all I am interested in as well. I think input lag would be reduced, but it would be nice to know for sure. And strobed mode is even more important to me.
It worries me a bit that they are selling them for an extra $120. It sounded like the g-sync upgrade kit would be under $100 before.

Input lag on a 60hz display will be reduced by 0-8ms, depending on your framerate. Since with G-Sync you never miss a frame, there's basically no lag there like there normally is with vsync. However it's only going to help if you are getting between 30 and 60fps. Once framerate matches or exceeds the display refresh, there's no extra input latency.
